Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Aecws (registered October 2023) was indefinitely blocked on March 18, 2024, for repeated creating copyvio articles on steam locomotives. On March 29, Christian (originally registered in April 2022) woke up after making no edits since November 2023 and began rapidly creating drafts on steam locomotives (7 in the span of 2 hours) in exactly the same manner as Aecws. I ran into Canadian Pacific 3 in NPP and discovered it is entirely ripped from an online article. There are also strong behavioral tells - compare Christian's creation Elk River Mill & Lumber Co. Falk (which is also tagged for copyvio, which most every Aecws creation includes) to this diff from Aecws and we see these identical sentences: SP 1233 had to pull a mixed freight train. UP 4466 did a last year run before being retired and put back on display. The shay locomotives were having the great shay race. Everything went well, until UP 844 had suffered a boiler tube failure, UP 3985 had to take UP 844 home dead in tow back to Cheyenne, Wyoming for an overhaul restoration into operating condition. Also note the repeated habit of obsessively listing a large number of steam locomotives in a giant run on sentence, a hallmark of Aecws' editing. I have never seen any other editor create massive run on sentence lists in this manner. The IP you see in the Best Friend of Charleston article history is also Aecws, obviously. This seems pretty open and shut to me. I'm not requesting CU as the data is likely to be stale and I think this can be decided on behavioral evidence alone. Found another related account: Cqww made an edit to Falk on April 23rd and has otherwise done nothing but create drafts on steam locomotives that are blatant copyvios. I don't know if this is one person or multiple people but something is fishy here. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 00:58, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oldest account in this batch is Aecws. I'll blog and tag. Clerks, I think this SPI should therefore be moved to Aecws? --Yamla (talk) 12:50, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
