User:Em thegem/Logan Venderlic What else should I add before launching this page? Are the references that are included okay?[edit]

This page used to exist, and then it got deleted, but I had it restored to do some edits and additions on it before relaunching it. Would more personal info be relevant, or would it be better to find more show references?

After you launch the page into mainspace, someone is going to look at it to see if your subject has been shown to be "notable" in the Wikipedia sense of the word by means of references you gave to "reliable sources". To evaluate the notability issue, they are probably going to compare what you wrote to the criteria listed at WP:BAND. The only one of those which your subject could meet is #1, subject of multiple, non-trivial published works. This criterion requires that the coverage appear in a reliable source, which in practice leaves out blogs, MySpace, and Facebook. It requires that the source be independent. So the reviewyou.com, CDbaby, and Popside Recording sites won't qualify. And the coverage must be more than a mere naming or mention in passing, so the Druskyentertainment won't work. The problem is that you need some independent reviews of his musical work to demonstrate notability, or the article will probably be deleted again. Tkotc (talk) 05:08, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have just completed editing this in my personal pages and have copied and posted it as an article now that I feel it is sufficiently cited and well organized.

Now that's what an article should be. Nice job. Tkotc (talk) 05:21, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I want to post a wiki about the singer songwriter Jonathan Clay. I have referenced the article on every sentence. Please review it and let me know what I can change to make it wiki ready.

I've tried to clean up the layout, punctuation, and formatting, but you need to go back and complete the job, things like putting album titles in italics and song titles in quotes. I think you should keep looking for articles about your subject from independent reliable sources. Also, since he seems notable in part for the use of his songs on TV, some better documentation of that would be very helpful. The beforeitsnews site is not really ideal authority for the use of his songs in the three series, because it seems to be a site to which anyone can contribute "news", somewhat like a blog, and the post is clearly promotional in purpose. The ultimatetomball reference is less than ideal because it is a news release from his agent, thus not an independent source. I clicked on the Sons of Anarchy link but Clay is not named on the page nor is the song "Gypsy Woman". I don't doubt that he did it, but you need to provide a better link. I have the sense that you have a good subject for an article, but it would be better if you could find better references. Tkotc (talk) 06:27, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just created a page for the Founder Flush model of speciation. I would appreciate it if someone more experienced than me would review it to ensure that it is worthy of the main page. Thanks! ETA: I'm not sure why the formatting is so buggy for my request, but in case you can't see it,

here's the link. Thanks.

I need to make this go live, but the instructions are really confusing.

This biographical article was created by User:Born Again 83 and I've contributed to it per their request. The original biography is in Italian (it:Giacomo Di Chirico). Will someone please review, to make certain it's been correctly translated into English? Is it up to the standard it should be and, if not, what would improve it?

I would like to ask for a feedback/review on my draft. (It was previously deleted - considered as not objective) Timeport101 (talk) 20:58, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is the first article I've written on Wikipedia. I need help with formatting (in case I've made any mistakes) as well as with the final "Categories" section. I was unsure of how to categorize the article. I also want to say straight out that I'm currently an intern at Six Degrees Records, the label that has put out the album on which I wrote this article. As I have cited sources and made no unfounded claims in the article, I believe that I am a neutral contributor. Furthermore, I'm not being paid for my work. I love this kind of music and would like more information on it to be available online.

Thanks for your feedback, Zeina.

Well done references. Look at Chamber music (disambiguation). Try to come up with a title that will work with your article. The system software will give the article the main title, so I removed your top level title. Also I tightened up the line spacing (just one blank line preceding sections). Nice work! Please critique my article. I am looking for and will certainly appreciate constructive criticism and suggestions. Thank you very much.

Patricia Garfield, Ph.D.[edit]

Hi! I'm a newbie. Just posted article about award-winning author/educator/researcher Patricia Garfield, Ph.D.

I researched the article by reviewing her website, books written by her, lists of her books in print, recent on-line articles about her, and by reading about the organization she co-founded: The International Association for the Study of Dreams. I also emailed some questions directly to Dr. Garfield, via her website, in order to gain some fresh quotes from her.

I would love to include some images.

Will this article automatically show up in the list of available articles on Wikipedia?

Thanks!
