GuardianZ[edit]

I suspect GuardianZ has evaded an arbitration decision by editing as Ebonyskye. After concluding that GuardianZ edits with a negative bias towards Midnight Syndicate, the arbitration decision banned GuardianZ from editing any articles related to Midnight Syndicate or Nox Arcana and Ebonyskye has edited both articles as well as adding significant content to Darklore Manor, an article about a Nox Arcana release. She has added original research to the Darklore Manor article accusing Midnight Syndicate of copying a Nox Arcana album concept.[1] The writing style (comments on talk pages and edit descriptions) of the two users is also very similar. Also, she’s just edited the Dungeons & Dragons (album) article in a way which, consistent with her edits as GuardianZ, shows a clear bias towards Joseph Vargo of Nox Arcana.[2] - Skinny McGee 20:01, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really understand this decision and am thinking that I may not have explained myself properly. GuardianZ is barred from editing any articles related to Midnight Syndicate or Nox Arcana through a decision by the arbitration committee. While she is no longer active as GuardianZ, I believe she has created a new user name, Ebonyskye, to circumvent this arbitration decision. I thought that a checkuser was the appropriate place to determine if they are the same person. If a checkuser is not appropriate, is there somewhere else I should be reporting this? Thank you, Skinny McGee 20:53, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the pattern of edits is such that you are pretty sure it's the same person, try reporting your information (you'll need to supply a pattern as above, preferably with a few more diffs, not just an allegation) at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets... ordinary disruptive users would be reported at WP:AN/I or WP:3RR ++Lar: t/c 22:38, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Lar. I ended up filing a report at WP:AE and got the result I was expecting - Ebonyskye is a new incarnation GuardianZ. - Skinny McGee 02:11, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GuardianZ[edit]

I suspect User:GuardianZ has evaded a block by editing as User:Peacekpr. On November 20 it was confirmed that User:GuardianZ is User:Oroboros_1 and they were blocked for sockpuppetry and disruption of the Midnight Syndicate article. [3] [4]

On November 21 the User:Peacekpr account was created. Several hours later User:Peacekpr made his/her first edit, an investigation into User:SkinnyMcgee. [5] All of User:Peacekpr's edits have been involving the Midnight Syndicate content dispute case, it seems that this account was created for a sole purpose. If User:Peacekpr is truly User:GuardianZ, then he/she has violated Wikipedia policy by evading a block. Dionyseus 02:57, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does this mean I am cleared of the charges? I did not have a sockpuppet, not Oroboros or Peacekpr and have been trying for a week to login, and my IP has never changed. Dionyseus just placed a notice on my user page that I was a "proven" sockpuppet, and this says otherwise. GuardianZ 14:54, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, these are two seperate cases. This case was a request to check to see if you were User:Peacekpr. The result of that check was "inconclusive". Dionyseus 15:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I wasn't asking you Dionyseus. I would like a re-check. As I said my IP has never changed and I do not have any other user account. Plus Oroboros signed in under a different IP [6], which you and Skinny tried to hide by "archiving" the page. GuardianZ 08:02, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's a lie, User:khoikhoi removed your message and warned you not to continue evading your block. [7] [8] Dionyseus 08:09, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oroboros 1[edit]

  • Code letter: C, E

I suspect both User:Oroboros_1 and User:GuardianZ are the same person. They are edit warring on the Midnight Syndicate article, both trying to push a Joseph Vargo promo. In the article's talk page, apparently Oroboros_1 forgot to sign in and replied using the 68.9.37.233 IP address. [9] 68.9.37.233 then noticed that she was not signed on, so she edited out the IP address and replaced it with her username 'Oroboros_1'. [10] On November 10, GuardianZ edits the article with the edit summary "adding footnotes in support of statements. correcting quotation marks. combining duplicate references (print with web links))". [11] The article was reverted, and then GuardianZ forgot to log in and as IP address 68.9.37.233 she reverted the article with the edit summary "My footnotes for references re-added, minus reference to people, but with statements cited. PS. Skinny, please use talk page for all future dialog." [12]
