Sn0wflake has been here just on a year, and has amassed just shy of 3000 edits. He has been instrumental in quite a bit of the chore work on the stub sorting project, and has also done considerable work on rock music. Already does quite a bit of vandalism reversion, and - as an added bonus - he’s trilingual. A frequent visitor to VfD where (for those of you counting) he uses the full range of voting options (keep, merge, and delete). Grutness...wha? 00:32, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

    I would like to ask for a reasoning for your vote, so that I could find I way to imrpove myself as an editor, but since that would prove quite unfruitful - as there is no reasoning other than your agenda - by all means, continue disrupting WP:POINT at your leisure.     Rude, eh... I spent some time trying to talk with you, and all you would do was post inwikis to Wikipedia rules instead of giving me answers. When I tried to follow your line of thought, you told me to forget everything and that it didn't matter anymore, as if I was bothering you. So if I was rude, I am sorry, but you weren't acting like an experienced user. You were actually claiming ownership for something, which at times is not even that much of a bad thing; but when ownership comes at the cost of breaking a standard...     Thats almost the inverse of what happened. When i finially realised your feeling of ownership towards the heavy metal template was matched only by your ignorance of basic wiki policy, I gave up entirely and moved on. I suggest some of those voting in favor look into the incident, and that Sn0wflake reflect upon it as well. From my experience he would make a famously poor choice for adminship.     Nevermind the fact that it is questionable wether it is possible to feel ownership over a template you have only made one minor edit to, as it so happens with the Heavy metal template in my case, but you were breaking a standard set long before you even thought about editing said template. The standard set for the project is using a black/white font on a contrasting background. If you wanted to make the template you rewrote have any color within that range, you were free to propose it, and even more, I would gladly support your decision. What you can't do is barge in stating that you have the right to change the color to whatever you want and that me and Andros were bothering you for no apparent reason. That's quite rude. To conclude, I have reflected upon the incident and have reached the same conclusion I had reached the first time: if you weren't so aggressive, there would have been no incident. --Sn0wflake 19:48, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  3. Oppose, on account of the above two exchanges. If Sn0wflake can't model WP:COOL and WP:civ on RfA, I don't have much reason to expect him to do so when using the admin tools.     On the basis that I respect your opinon, I don't believe that I have lost my cool or that I have been uncivil in this case. I was merely replying to the user's comment. I didn't do anything other than state my version of the facts. He proposed his version and I proposed mine, and it's up to the person reading to decide what version is "correct" or more in accordance to the person's own views.   1. I fully realize Sn0wflake's great dedication to this project. The reason I am withholding my support is that I have one concern, the speedy deletion tagging of Mother-in-law joke [1] which I feel displayed some uncertainty about what "patent nonsense" is, and what the criteria for speedy deletion are. An administrator has the ability to delete nonsense on sight, and must be careful not to speedy delete things which don't meet any of the speedy criteria. Sn0wflake did drop me a note which acknowledged that this tagging was incorrect, but this is still a (slight) concern. If I can have this concern addressed I will be happy to support.     Sjakkalle, I do understand your concern and I will try to explain why I think this would not be an issue, was I to become an admin. Essentialy, my decision to send said article to speedy deletion was somewhat precipitated, but that was due to the fact that it was just one of the numerous articles with seemingly worthless content tagged simply as stub which used to populate Category:Stubs before we got around cleaning it up. I had never had contact with the subject, and given the not very serious tone of the article, I decided to tag it as nonsense and moved on. Now, that might not have been the best course of action, but as I said, I took a hasty decision in order to proceed to the next article, since there was still so much to be looked into and classified. Ever since then, I have been looking more carefully into articles before even considering sending them to Speedy of VfD. Thus, I don't think you will experience other problems concerning me and speedy articles in the future. :) In case you have other questions, feel free to ask. --Sn0wflake 21:28, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. I have been involved with vandalism reversion and try to be constantly active on VfD. However, I believe that the activity I am most involved with is categorization of stub articles. Ever since the beginning of the year I have been working on stub articles and try to make quick fixes to them as I go, such as bolding titles and correcting capitalisation. If I am accepted as an admin, I will continue my work on stub categorization and will more actively hunt for vandalism.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I believe that my greatest contribution to the community was the complete rewrite of Wikipedia:Stub, which now includes content which was spread over a myriad of pages. Knowledge about the subject is now gathered at one place, and I feel that it does make a difference. As for an article which I personaly feel proud of, I would have to say Children of Bodom. I sincerely believe this article is the most complete and accurate source for information on the band avaliable on the internet.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A. Interestingly, my most heated conflict on the Wikipedia was with the very person who has nominated me. Grutness and I had a short but quite aggressive discussion many months ago, but, ironically, we came to work on the same project and to respect eachother very much. Otherwise, I try to keep discussions short and objective, even though I admit that at rare times I don't ponder enough before acting. When I realise that I have made an error of judgement, I try to cool off and analyze the situation from a different perspective. I have never been involved in an edit war.
  • Oh yes - I'd forgotten that was you. In that case I de-nom... Nah... the fact that we now work well together on a project that had us at loggerheads is, in my view, another indication that Sn0wflake will be a good admin. Grutness...wha? 10:20, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
