Netflix/Amazon SciFi[edit]

I was using both Netflix and Amazon to find a good SciFi movie. In the SciFi category, they listed about 95% horror films. Is there a way to list SciFi and not Horror in either service for the next time I decide to watch a movie instead of spending two hours skipping through horror movies? 209.149.113.5 (talk) 20:09, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's a slippery slope; Amazon and Netflix are not the only ones to have that problem. Many classic sci-fi movies contain elements of horror such as aliens (Alien), monsters (Frankenstein), or danger/suspense (2001: A Space Odyssey). You may have some luck adding the word "adventure" or "action" to your search, though I don't have much experience with searching Netflix yet. An alternate tactic would be to search using a more robust engine, or query a online chat room, to get specific titles to search for. Matt Deres (talk) 01:26, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The problem I usually have is getting search engines to separate sci-fi from fantasy. I want space ships and aliens and instead I get leprechauns and unicorns. StuRat (talk) 04:33, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
