Realtime audio pitch shifting[edit]

Is there a tool or plug-in to automatically pitch the audio output of Windows or Firefox?

The background behind my question is, I'm watching video on Amazon Prime aka Amazon Video. The thing is, with Amazon being a US company, they don't seem to care much about PAL speedup and related issues. It seems a lot of the video content was dubbed into my language at 25p, but Amazon stores and playbacks the content at 24p, without applying appropriate pitch shifting. The result is that the entire sound and all the voices are too deep, at about 70% of a halftone. I and other German customers who prefer to watch movies dubbed in our language have complained to Amazon about this issue in recent years, but so far, Amazon hasn't changed anything about it.

Thus, I'm looking for a tool or plug-in for either Windows 10 or Firefox by means of which I can pitch the audio *UP* by about half to one halftone in realtime. --2003:EF:170E:A463:C1E9:A7DC:6B3:E0D2 (talk) 15:47, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, for any future reference for when anybody else may be in need of this, I've found a Firefox plug-in that does the trick: [1]. Some websites suggest to use the in-built karaoke feature of soundcards instead, but that will switch the audio to mono and reduce the frequency range to that of a telephone. --2003:EF:170E:A463:C1E9:A7DC:6B3:E0D2 (talk) 16:16, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Quite German, only these could complain about something like that. – VLC player can be adjusted almost appropriate: Wiedergabe > Geschwindigkeit > Langsamer (fein) pressed once in this order results in a step of 5% speed reduction, which is a result quite close to the 4% PAL-speedup. --87.147.178.173 (talk) 22:54, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
