I can’t seem to get in touch with Rationalwiki website. Can someone find the contact details please. The e-mail address provided in this link (http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/RationalWiki:Legal_FAQ) are non-functional. Deleting Issue[edit]

Does anyone know how to delete items from the msconfig list.

I tried the 'programs and features' from the 'control panel' still it leaves some functionality in the msconfig list.

Steps to follow:

Click the 'Start' menu from the 'taskbar'.
Insert msconfig in the search 'programs and files' field; click as it appears.
Select the 'Startup' tab. - I can't delete some items from the list. I can only disable. I wish to remove it...

MSCONFIG just shows you a list of what is configured to start up when the computer starts up, it doesn't 'create' the list. It does show you WHERE the program is configured to start up automatically. Your options is to uninstall the program, OR delete the entry from the registry. Mind you the latter should really only be performed if you know what you are doing. If you inadvertently delete something important there you could break some functionality or at worse even cause your computer to fail to boot. Vespine (talk) 00:30, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gadget850 and Vespine, I have installed and opened the program (it looks quite technical), I've selected the "everything tab", also deleted few desired files from it, which stated "file not found..." in the "Image Path" column. I guess it worked... There are five more files (unaware of what they are) displaying the same type of issue (all dipslaying the colour 'yellow', selected for the complete row), can I delete them as well? Also, Do you have any idea what it means when it is in 'red'?

As displayed in my monitor, coloured yellow:

1st one is from the Logon tab. Note: the folder name is the current modem I'm using; the modem's name which is installed in the same drive (D).

3rd, 4rth and 5th are from the Drivers tab.

Important: Do you know any other powerful tools, such like this, that will work as/like a master controller?

Help in seeking volunteer rewriter(s) requested[edit]

I’m searching for re-writers (volunteers), will anyone help me finding some? I searched in Wikipedia. I found one person so far, I find the method of discussion he addressed unsuitable and there is no other ways to get in touch with the gentleman… I need someone's help.

Keyboard driver[edit]

After a painful Windows crash and re-install, my keyboard Microsoft Office RT9450 no longer works properly. I am so used to using the Copy and Paste buttons on the keyboard, it is painful to work without them. A google search for "RT9450 driver" brings up unhelpful comments like "Microsoft no longer makes this keyboard" or "make sure the proper driver is installed". I get that there isn't a proper driver, but my keyboard worked 2 days ago, so there must be a driver that worked. One site suggested an Intellitype Pro 6.1, but installing that failed.

If you are still using XP, you should be able to use IntelliType Pro 5.0, which officially supports the RT9450. If you are using Vista or Windows 7, threads like this one suggest a newer version of IntelliType Pro and AutoHotkey. Windows will generally look on Windows Update when first installing drivers, and I think this is supposed to happen when you install Windows, at least on recent versions, but I think there are various reasons it might not happen. After that, I think hardware drivers are often not automatically updated/installed unless you reinstall the drivers for some reason (like the hardware is moved around). So have you checked Windows Update on your computer? They should show up under optional updates. You may need to turn on "give me recommended updates" but I'm not sure. Yeah sorry, I falsely assumed from the above answer that IntelliType Pro did provide some sort of driver for the keyboard, in which case I thought it may also come through Windows Update (I've had it before). I see now the point of IntelliType Pro is to install a driver for a different keyboard which gives most of the features (and so you select that). To avoid confusion one reason I recommended it is because I'm not entirely sure going by official support is always a good idea. Well may be if it's only Microsoft involved it would be (but even then I'm not sure), but I've had drivers on Windows Update before when it was claimed something wasn't supported. Of course, this doesn't apply when the hardware is resonably well known and everyone says it's not supported (rather than just the official word). Nil Einne (talk) 18:24, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
