February 20[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on February 20, 2023.

Jade Armor (TV series)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. There is agreement for restoring the removed list entry based on the sources provided here, which attest to a 2022 release date (in case these prove inaccurate and the show turns out to have been released later, then the redirect can be retargeted to List of animated television series of 2023. (non-admin closure)Uanfala (talk) 18:44, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at the target. Could conceivably be listed by a non-English title, but it's not possible for a reader to find it from this search term as currently set up. Delete unless a useful target can be identified. signed, Rosguill talk 03:26, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • This was the original title of Jade Armor before it was moved (presumably due to the title not being ambiguous), which was then BLARed by Onel5969 to the same list article. A few days later, mention of this and other series was removed in an unexplained edit [1]. I suggest either revert that edit, or restore Jade Armor, target Jade Armor (TV series) to it and presumably send to AfD. A7V2 (talk) 04:54, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - the series was listed at the target until this unexplained edit. I would revert that edit.Onel5969 TT me 13:43, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Just wanted to note that I went ahead and restored all of the content that was removed by an IP for no apparent reason, which includes mention of the Jade Armor TV series at the target. CycloneYoris talk! 00:22, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Removed again, by another IP 181.167.78.78 with summary These are upcoming series. Jay 💬 07:04, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I admit I'm not sure about this one. A Google search of this series finds numerous websites referring to it as a 2022 series, but many of the sources strike me as either not especially reliable or are explicit that they are describing an anticipated release date. One website says the series premiered in September, but I cannot include the link because it is blacklisted, which tells you everything you need to know about its reliability. This was supposedly releasing on HBO, but their link is dead. However, this says the episode was published [on their website?] three months ago, which would be December, assuming their software is rounding correctly. I am a little confused by the state of documentation, but the IP seems to be wrong about this one. At any rate, it exists now, so if the IP is correct, the solution is to retarget to List of animated television series of 2023, not delete. Compassionate727 (T·C) 09:53, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Delete if not verifiable. Entries on List of animated television series of 2022 should either have an article (which could verify their existence and release) or have a source verifying it. The IP was correct in deleting unsourced and unlinked entries with cells stating "TBA". Gonnym (talk) 11:55, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: First premiered in September-November 2022, in France, German-world [2], French-Canada, Australia [3]DaxServer (t · m · c) 13:46, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep. I would say this should simply remain as a redirect, as it is currently. I see no reason to delete it. Additionally, as Daxserver pointed out, it premiered in fall 2022. IP addresses tend to, more often than not, make absurd (and unnecessary) edits, sadly, as pointed out in this discussion, which lead to further issues. Implausible redirect. The redirect target did write a children's book Art in 2006, but the redirect is from an unlikely search entry point 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 11:19, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was restore article. While there was consensus to restore, there wasn't clear consensus to immediately procede to AfD. Section this redirects to was removed in an effort to clean up the massive amount of cruft that had accumulated on the page. I'm open to a soft-redirect to the Indonesian Wikipedia's article on this version, but I don't know if that would be appropriate. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:53, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment we shouldn't redirect to another language Wikipedia, as per Wikipedia:Soft redirect: Soft redirects to non-English language editions of Wikipedia should be avoided because they are generally unhelpful to English-language readers. Instead, editors should link to the alternate language Wikipedia directly with one of various forms of interlanguage links. Not a comment on keeping or deleting the redirect itself, but on that specific thing. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:19, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah alright. I had a feeling that wouldn't be appropriate but figured I"d mention it in case it was. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:20, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looking at this version [4] of the current target, I don't see that the section on Indonesia (and some others) is really "cruft", so if relevant content can be readded to the current target or elsewhere then I think this can remain as a redirect. Failing that, I think restore since it was an article for 5 years before being prodded by Primefac, who then BLARed it after it was deproded, but with the edit summary "still unsourced, no extra info that isn't already in the main article". Given that there is no-longer information in the main article, this BLAR should be reversed, and if desired take the article to AfD. A7V2 (talk) 07:22, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Math rap[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. There is a clear consensus that the current target is wrong, but aside from that it's roughly split. I find the WP:REDYES argument to be slightly more persuasive as this discussion has surfaced that there is more content to be written about that we are currently missing. Legoktm (talk) 23:45, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at the target or at Math rock, seems like a case of WP:REDYES, although due content may be possible to add at either of those pages, in which case the redirect could be kept. signed, Rosguill talk 21:23, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • The Alex Kajitani article is the only one with the phrase "math rap", but I think it would be misleading to redirect to a specific person. Educational music#Hip hop would be a better target for a redirect; I'm not sure if there's enough coverage for a standalone article. Peter James (talk) 13:40, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
N.b. math rock is not a genre of educational music. While there is some usage of "math rap" to refer to "raps that teach you math", there's also usage directly analogous to the rock context, where "math" refers to complex time signatures and non-standard arrangements. I would oppose the suggestions to retarget to Educational music on this basis. signed, Rosguill talk 15:23, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If there are two topics, one of which is the subject of Wikipedia content and the other is not, there can still be a redirect, we don't have to wait until the other topic is mentioned somewhere. Peter James (talk) 17:19, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think that displaying internal search results, where Alex Kajitani would be a top result, would be preferable to sending readers to material that is not the primary topic for the term. signed, Rosguill talk 19:10, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is the primary topic. If the other topic has a similar amount of coverage, it's likely that it can be mentioned somewhere and there can be a disambiguation page. Peter James (talk) 16:02, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Retarget to Educational music#Hip hop; I think this would be the best target. However, other options are feasible. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk) 18:28, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete It seems doubtful at Alex Kajitani is associated with the exact term "math rap". I am still undecided if "rap music about math" is worthy of a redirect to Educational music#Hip hop. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 08:48, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

East Buttress[edit]

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. (non-admin closure) Timothytyy (talk) 04:25, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I proposed this for deletion on the basis that "East buttress" is a generic term with several mentions in Enwiki and this page encumbers Search. "West Buttress" does not exist. It was de-PRODed by @Necrothesp: and redirected to the current target, but I wanted to check by discussion that this is appropriate. Search for "East Buttress" (with quotes) shows 43 other mentions of varying capitalization styles, most of which do not refer to Denali. I therefore still maintain that we're better off deleting this page because it is inhibiting effective Search. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:46, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambig, a quick search shows that there are multiple mountains with a feature known as the east buttress, but not too many that disambiguation is impossible. One should also be created for "West Buttress" as well, or possibly a list article could be created dealing with all of them. Thryduulf (talk) 09:20, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Tiny Tim (A Christmas Carol). (non-admin closure) {{ping|ClydeFranklin}} (t/c) 18:55, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A phrase not mentioned at the target. There are multiple articles where this is mentioned, and it seems to be generic. Delete, unless the phrase has a connection with the Charles Dickens book, in which case it can be mentioned. Jay 💬 05:05, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment it has a pretty strong connection with the book, see Tiny Tim (A Christmas Carol): In the story, Tiny Tim is known for the statement, "God bless us, every one!" which he offers as a blessing at Christmas dinner. Dickens repeats the phrase at the end of the story, symbolic of Scrooge's change of heart.. Maybe should be retargeted to that? I'm not familiar enough with the A Christmas Carol to know how well it'd fit in currently. Skynxnex (talk) 05:10, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see a redirect to the Tiny Tim article as a the best choice here.--70.24.249.205 (talk) 06:42, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
