Scott Christian Sava[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was restore article. I will leave it up to User:Presidentman or BLAR-er User:Onel5969 to determine whether to send it through AfD. I'll also unpatrol it after I restore, so it gets a fresh round of NPP scrutiny. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|she) 00:02, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Author has other notable artistic endeavours, and I don't see how this is a primary topic about him. (Also he is a very nice guy ) QuickQuokka [talkcontribs] 23:08, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Restore and send to AFD This was originally created as a redirect, but SwallowTail00 sought to turn it into the article which was BLARed. I think the best option is to restore the article to allow for improvement or a proper determination to be made if GNG is met based on available sources. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 15:04, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Slaycation[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Canada's Drag Race#Slaycation. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|she) 23:59, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is an upcoming series by the streaming service not mentioned in the page; most common search result by far is instead the completely unrealated video game "Slaycation Paradise" which doesn't have an obvious redirect target. Rusalkii (talk) 20:32, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was move without leaving a redirect. If you'd like, you could call this deletion and me creating the correctly spelled version, except I was nice enough to let someone else have the credit for the initial edit. :) --BDD (talk) 18:59, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if typo or deliberate misspelling but either way "fo" seems unlikely here. No objection to the redirect being created with the correct "for" Rusalkii (talk) 20:27, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of "Nicola Wren" on the target page. Perhaps there is a missing detail, or the redirect's creator did a mistake. — CrafterNova [ TALK ] [ CONT ] 18:57, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • King Arthur: Legend of the Sword seems to be Wren's first role in a major movie but is probably in sufficient roles this redirect doesn't make sense. Skynxnex (talk) 19:07, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delta-Theta (symbol)[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. If suitable content is added to Otherkin § Symbols or elsewhere, this could be recreated. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|she) 23:58, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely redirect. From what I can tell from Google, the symbol is actually theta-delta ([1]), not the other way around. GorillaWarfare (she/her • talk) 16:32, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • The content about the subculture is now in the Otherkin article, so all else being equal it should be retargetted there. My first thought is that "Delta-theta" is a very plausible misremembering of "Theta-delta" and so a perfectly good redirect, however we don't appear to have any content about such a symbol that I can find - Otherkin#Symbols (where I'd expect it to be) is exclusively about a heptagram. So, I guess my recommendation is retarget if content about the symbol is added (I haven't investigated whether it should be) or delete if it isn't. • What Thryduulf said.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  02:10, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Delta Theta redirects to Delta Theta Phi, if content about the symbol is added a hatnote should probably be added there. Thryduulf (talk) 03:02, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Meanness. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 21:36, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is an article on the more general topic meanness, even though that article in its current state is heavily tilted towards the philosophical side. I don't see a strong reason for deleting this redirect, so I think it should instead be retargeted to Meanness. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 17:46, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not all hostile behaviour can be considered cruelty. "Hostile behavior" is a far closer topic to Hostility than the current target, and I suggest that this redirect be retargeted there. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 17:46, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Missing space per WP:RDAB. This is the result of a page move, but the page was at the target for a total of 6 minutes back in 2011. It hasn't received any pageviews in the last 90 days, so it seems unused enough for deletion. TartarTorte 16:19, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Per previous discussions of Disco-rock, there was no mention of the genre on that article, so it should not re-direct there. Similar to other re-direct discussions such as Funk-pop. Andrzejbanas (talk) 13:36, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

B ED[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Bachelor of Education. plicit 14:23, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't seem like a particularly likely search term. It seems more likely that someone would arrive at this redirect would be someone trying to search for the bed article who had caps lock turned on and accidentally hit the space key after hitting the B key (they're adjacent on a QWERTY layout), so the likelihood that anyone who arrives here would be WP:ASTONISHed seems fairly high. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 11:44, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good call. I would support this retargeting. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 12:32, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget as above, that's by far the most common search result for "B ED". '"BE D" car' gives me only this article referring to the Mercedes, and then more bacheolors of education. Rusalkii (talk) 18:54, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I’m not sure we should be basing our decisions on people who apparently leave caps lock on and happen to somehow mash the space bar while typing a three-letter word. Looking at other cars by Mercedes like CLA, CLK, GLB, GLA, it seems like a disambiguation page would be appropriate. It seems weird to me to ignore the casing of the article to blindly redirect to something that doesn’t even have the properly-cased (B Ed) redirect in place today. Compare to PHD as an example.  —lensovettalk – 04:19, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've now created B Ed as a redirect to Bachelor of Education, as Rusalkii notes, this is overwhelmingly the primary topic. Thryduulf (talk) 11:28, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mosque Street[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was disambiguate. -- Tavix (talk) 00:33, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While looking around some related pages, it seems as if there is a Mosque Street in Hong Kong, and a Mosque Street in Singapore. There are quite a few incoming links, mainly from this page being included in templates, but the main takeaway I've found is that this page is being linked multiple ways over in different contexts, and only currently exists as a redirect to a page where it is very loosely stated (once) in a passing mention. Feels like a better opportunity for a red link to be here. Utopes (talk / cont) 07:40, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • WP:SIA#Common selection criteria as preconditions for a SIA are not met. Not a notable list, there's only one notable item, and the other item is not likely to have an article on the topic in the future, and the list can not be complete because there are other Mosque Streets around the world, and some are mentioned in other articles, but the information is poorly sourced, and there is no evidence that such a list could resemble a complete list. Prefer dabification with one regular and two DABMENTION entries—the Hong Kong street, and the fairly noteworthy Mosque Street in Germany, named after the oldest German mosque, which I've just added to Zossen.—Alalch E. 18:25, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Jay 💬 09:51, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dabify per the above, but if not it looks like we have an article for Mosque Street, Singapore and that should be the redirect target (or primary name of that article), not the mosque in Hong Kong. Rusalkii (talk) 19:05, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Mosque Street, Singapore per Rusalkii, or delete to encourage using search. Streets leading to, or adjacent to mosques would usually be named as such. Jay 💬 08:29, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:RDAB due to the lack of space between the title and the disambiguator. The title with the correct spacing, List of cities in Minnesota (population 5,000+), is a redirect that targets the same page as the nominated redirect. Steel1943 (talk) 06:19, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Joke redirects. 121.202.195.232 (talk) 04:47, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Kim-Jong Il claiming to be a golf world record holder has been published in many sources. Also, are IP users even allowed to suggest deletions through RFD? All deletion requests need to be attributable, so they can't start AFDs for example. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:17, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is no prohibition on IP editors nomination pages for deletion, indeed WP:AFDLIST (part of Wikipedia:Guide to deletion) explicitly says Anyone can make a nomination (emphasis in original). The reason they can't directly start AfDs is only that they cannot create new pages, there is no such barrier at RfD. Thryduulf (talk) 12:29, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I do not condone what the Kim regime did a single bit, but both look like inappropriate humor or vandalism, and the second even looks like borderline libel. Plus both are highly implausible search terms. ~ Prodraxis (Merry Christmas!) 15:06, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure how describing a dead person as dead is libellous? Especially when the creation summary ("he's not ill, he's dead") written 10 years after the subject's death, clearly indicates it was an attempt at humour. Thryduulf (talk) 15:15, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Veering off-topic, but I find myself surprised that DeathList did not make that joke, it's very much their sort of headline. Thryduulf (talk) 15:26, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ooopsies, my bad, but either way those aren't very plausible search terms ~ Prodraxis (Merry Christmas!) 15:57, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. All the google hits for the first term relate to computer golf games featuring Kim Jong Un, all the hits for the latter relate to rumours of Kim Jong Un's death in late April/early May 2020. Neither are useful search terms. Thryduulf (talk) 15:21, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's lots of hits about Kim Jong Il's golf "record", and it has more sustained coverage than the computer golf game e.g. [2], [3], [4], [5]. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:09, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article, leaving it unclear why a reader would be redirected to the target when searching the term. Steel1943 (talk) 23:35, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. This is mentioned in the target article - it's the final sentence in the "Upcoming projects" section (it uses "&" rather than "and", which might be why the nominator missed it?), although whether it is still an "upcoming" film is debatable (it's been on the back-burner since April 2022) but it hasn't been cancelled. If that were the end of the story I'd be saying "keep", but David Leitch will almost certainly not be directing it (he stepped away from the project before it was shelved). There is also a similar amount of content at both Westbrook (company)#Filmography and List of STX Entertainment films#In development, which would both make good targets if they were the only one. I'm wondering if it might be better to convert the Fast and Loose disambiguation page to a set index and summarise the information there? Thryduulf (talk) 01:32, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Found this redirect completely by accident while editing a page that links to Collegeville, Minnesota. The redirect's name contains an implausible typo with "Minnesosta" (leading to a daily average of 0.16 pageviews since tracking began in July 2015) but was created too long ago to meet WP:CSD#R3. Additionally, Collegeville, Minnesota exists as a separate article from that of Collegeville Township, so even if the typo wasn't implausible I don't think the redirect really makes sense.
