Retarget to Iraqi conflict (2003–present). These are very similar to Iraqi conflict which redirects to Iraqi conflict (2003–present). Caenus (talk) 16:57, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget per the nom. This topic is much broader than the initial American invasion. Glades12 (talk) 18:38, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Video hardware[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Category:Video hardware. signed, Rosguill talk 05:14, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target article. In addition, hardware that generates video is not exclusive to computers (which Graphics hardware seems to be), for example, VCRs. Steel1943 (talk) 21:23, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I just made a category called Category:Video hardware; but I found out that the ambiguously named "Graphics hardware" existed too. Anyway, I want this renamed to Category:Computer graphics hardware. --PlayStation 69 06:21, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Please visit WP:CFD and present your argument. 132.205.44.134 21:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm removing the request from WP:RM and removing the move request template from the category page. Please see WP:CFD for category renaming and follow the procedure there. -GTBacchus(talk) 02:25, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Device ID[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 05:13, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Per third-party search engines. The concept of the term as a reference in this redirect is not exclusive to device drivers. For example, it seems that this phrase can also be used to refer to serial numbers and MAC addresses. Steel1943 (talk) 21:33, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. I don't doubt that device ID has other meanings, it is such a generic term. But good chance this is what a user might be looking for, and if we don't have anything else, what is the proposal here? If other uses in Wikipedia articles can be found then it can become a dab page, but otherwise, leave it alone. SpinningSpark 18:03, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:XY, my first thought when seeing "device ID" was Advertising ID. I could also see serial number and MAC address being plausible destinations too. There's also Device fingerprint. None are perfect equivalents to "Device ID", so I think this is where we should let search take over. Legoktm (talk) 07:01, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as hopelessly vague, and without a plausible target article or disambiguation page. Disagree with Spark that there is a good chance readers will be looking for device drivers. An external search indicates mobile or smartphone and which is what Serial number#Smartphones and other Smart Devices is. Jay 💬 03:13, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. After two relists, it sees like consensus is to keep. (non-admin closure) TartarTorte 23:37, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target; this seems to be part of the lyrics. Also is the actual name of a song by another group. MB 04:17, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MB: which group, and do they have an article? Jay 💬 18:00, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so. I just googled the term and found [1] and [2]. Searching does indicate this, the opening line of the Fleetwood Mac song, does more often seem to be a reference to that song. MB 18:20, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. This is helpful for a very popular song, and I would suggest the primary topic if there were ever a choice. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:27, 18 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I'm not sure if this redirect warrants fair use. If there's a otherwise a section discussing this then this falls on RFD delete #10. --Lenticel (talk) 01:24, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Shhh, and since there is no other article either for an alternate song or band related to the title per nom. A reader who knows one line of a song, would be looking for the rest of it, or its source, and not necessarily discussion around it. Jay 💬 06:48, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Helpful and unambiguous. No need for deletion. CycloneYoris talk! 00:39, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
