Singer, songwriter, and dancer[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Hog Farm Talk 05:20, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This targets to a standalone list that includes Singer and Dancer, no Songwriter. A reader knows that these occupations individually could be called entertainers. There are individual pages for each. What the reader would be looking for is a combined occupation, or entertainers who are adept in all the three fields. And we'll get a good idea of such persons if the text "Singer, songwriter, and dancer" gave uninhibited search results instead. No article references this redirect and the pageviews are negligible. See also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tom Walsh (Jeopardy! contestant), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Roger Craig (Jeopardy! contestant). Wikipedia is not the end-all fansite to create articles nor redirects for Jeopardy! champions of x number of days or winning y number of dollars. Anyone who meets the guidelines linked in this discussion have their own articles. AldezD (talk) 20:32, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment on content, not contributors. If you have something to say about another user's behaviour, do it at the appropriate noticeboard. This is not one of them.
The above user has set himself up as the page owner, despite being apparently ignorant of details of the show. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:46, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Baseball Bugs: "Ignorant". Yes. Let's call out ignorant behavior. You create redirects for someone who is an eight-nine-seven-WHATEVER day champion on a game show. It's a television show. Wikipedia is not your own fansite to add whatever you feel is important. He's just a random person. You are ignorant of WP:BLP1E, WP:BLPPRIMARY and WP:SIGCOV. You keep adding nonsense to articles because you believe it to be true/rational/"right" based upon your own ignorance of WP guidelines. AldezD (talk) 12:30, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I only posted it once. I am not responsible for what IP addresses do. And what would be your personal cutoff in that list, for number of wins and/or number of dollars won? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 13:51, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter. He's just a game show contestant who's won X games. David Legler won $1.7 million on a show in 2000, but he does not have a redirect to Twenty-One (game show) nor American game show winnings records. Ignoring WP:OTHERSTUFF, you're simply creating a redirect for someone who won x number of games on a television show because you feel he's important, and you ignore the WP guidelines above. He's just some random person who has achieved no notability outside of your own universe. AldezD (talk) 14:03, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep No valid rationale provided for deletion. None of those policies apply to redirects. Mlb96 (talk) 06:05, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. No policy reason to delete; mentioned in the article; no better alternative. Any BLP issues are for the article not the redirect. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 07:49, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Only mentioned in article because creator of redirect continues to add subject to article. He's just a random game show contestant. Fails guidelines listed above. AldezD (talk) 12:08, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

**Beware of false accusations of sockpuppetry. That can get you booted from here. That's assuming you don't get booted for edit-warring first. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 13:50, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep those are reasons he shouldn't have an article, not that there shouldn't be a redirect to what he's notable-ish for. Star Mississippi 13:30, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - No valid reason given for deletion beyond the editor's personal opinion. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 14:06, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - at the present time, the redirect directs readers to relevant information about the individual. The target is tagged for deletion; if it is deleted then this will be deleted per WP:G8 as long as there's not an RFD discussion banner in place at the time. Consider withdrawing this and letting the deletion discussion play out as it should. Ivanvector's squirrel (trees/nuts) 18:34, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Withdraw, as nominator—I'll wait for the deletion discussion complete. AldezD (talk) 21:18, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to German orthography. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 00:43, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Literally means "German orthography" (misspelt/miscapitalised, should be "Rechtschreibung"); not sure why this should be redirecting to the reform. ~~~~

This is a common name that redirect to the scientific name, but should it instead redirect to Viperinae, as a broad term for the entire family? I think so. It would be consistant with how Elapid snake redirects to Elapidae. Senator2029 ❮talk❯ 19:01, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was soft delete. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can request the article's undeletion. plicit 12:08, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a misspelling of Copper Island Aleut, but should be deleted as misleading because (as far as I'm aware) Aleut is not spoken on any of the places called Cooper Island. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:07, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
