Maud Mortimer[edit]

The result of the discussion was Retargeted (speedily) to the correct page of "Maud de Braose, Baroness Mortimer". Should be 100% uncontroversial — It was almost certainly a mistake, intended to redirect to "Maud de Braose, Baroness Mortimer". Paintspot Infez (talk) 20:51, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This page is a nonsensical redirect that redirects to itself. A Google search turns up absolutely nothing, thus indicating that this page was a joke, just that it was created nine days before April Fools, 2021. 🐔 Chicdat  Bawk to me! 13:51, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Docker[edit]

The result of the discussion was move Docker (disambiguation) to Docker. -- Tavix (talk) 13:56, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is the subject of a "move request" at Talk:Docker_(software)#Requested_move_4_April_2021 which proposes to move the software to the base title currently occupied by this redirect. I'm not quite sure what should have been done, but following the spirit, at least, of Wikipedia:Requested_moves#Requesting_multiple_page_moves, this needs to be brought to the attention of people interested in the redirect. Also, pinging participants of the previous discussion, who might want to weigh in here. @Thjarkur, In ictu oculi, Djm-leighpark, PamD, Zxcvbnm, HumanBodyPiloter5, 86.23.109.101, and 162.208.168.92:. Paintspot Infez (talk) 20:47, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Paintspot Infez, the previous move clearly isn't going to happen so closing it early was a good idea but having no primary topic (similar to Dockers) makes sense. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:52, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Need to also ping @PowerPCG5: who started the whole palaver. PamD 21:40, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move the dab page to this title per above. This is an ambiguous term with lots of potential meanings and I can't see any one of them being an unambiguous primary target. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 21:18, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep current target The only other clear potential primary topic is the software, which is obviously based in name on the dockworker. I don't see what's wrong with the current arrangement. Per WP:NWFCTM, the software is not at the same level of primariness outside of a limited demographic of IT workers.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:37, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well being in England I hadn't heard of the software (or for that matter Dockers (brand)) but I think the best compromise is no primary topic for either singular or plural. Crouch, Swale (talk) 06:39, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Moving the disambiguation page to the base name is really a matter for a separate WP:RM, and I don't see any reason to alter the status quo. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 19:43, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move Docker (disambiguation) to Docker per above. No clear primary target. MB 00:01, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note to closer, if there is consensus to move the DAB then the page currently at Docker should probably be moved to something like Docker (occupation) since it was formerly a separate article. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:10, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the current arrangement. A dock worker is the primary meaning, and that page (via its redirect to Stevedore) already has a prominent link to Docker (software) and Docker (disambiguation), so it already works for everyone, I would have thought. Second choice would be to move Docker (disambiguation) to Docker. I very much oppose the software being the primary target, because that is not the primary meaning of what a "Docker" is, per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Adpete (talk) 23:48, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. The software (which I certainly don't accept is "primary by usage" in any way) is nowhere near as significant as the common name of the occupation in the United Kingdom, which for hundreds of years was the most significant maritime power in the world. A term mostly only known to IT professionals vs a common term known by millions of people around the world. Very clear primary redirect. I would see anything else as very clear Americanocentrism (as in, we don't call them dockers, so obviously the term must be an obscure one!) and geekcentrism (as in, everyone knows about software and it's much more important than anything else!). -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:28, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not just the UK: the "dock worker" usage is also the primary usage in Australia (e.g. Federated Ship Painters and Dockers Union, Fremantle Dockers football team, Painters and Dockers band) and I suspect other English-speaking countries with a heavy UK influence. Adpete (talk) 00:14, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Even despite having come to this RfD by looking for the software article, I'd agree that there's nothing resembling hard evidence of a primary topic here. The dab should be the root page. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 18:16, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was soft delete. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can request the article's undeletion. plicit 03:54, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Recent AfD closed as delete. The subject is not mentioned in the target article, and it would be WP:UNDUE to mention them unless an exhaustive list of players is added. --Pontificalibus 09:51, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neutral Created the redirect sort of as a placeholder until List of National Bank of Pakistan cricketers is created, and list articles like this are being created at the moment. I did suggested it as a redirect in the AfD and nobody suggested it wasn't suitable but no problems if it's deleted until the list page is created. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 09:56, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
