PlanespotterA320 decided to unilaterally retarget this from Uyghur genocide to Nanjing Massacre. Unfortunately, I cannot agree with this target as Nanjing Massacre is not frequently described as a genocide in reliable sources. Meanwhile, I tried searching Chinese genocide on multiple search engines and most results I get refer to the Uyghur situation. To avoid an edit war I'm bringing it here for discussion.   • Comment I made it because an article claimed that it was a term for a kind of people who have lived on the islands, I was intending to create a section on the article for terminology used by the population, but it totally slipped my mind.   • Delete the correct Japanese orthography would be 旧島民, which just means "old/former island residents" (i.e. of any island in general, not just the Bonin Islands). 28 articles on Japanese Wikipedia use this term, including articles about some of the Bonin Islands, the Kuril Islands, Iriomote Island, and others. 61.239.39.90 (talk) 05:49, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: Longstanding humour redirect; the Wales/Whales joke has been part of Wikipedia humour culture for perhaps as long as we've had a Wikipedia humour culture. The "only on April Fool's" pattern proposed by the nominator doesn't match the actual use charts, where the spikes have no correlation with the calendar. (I also might suspect that pageviews before what Pageviews Analysis can track were higher -- Jimbo jokes went out of fashion before 2015.)   • Keep. Let's say I'm a wikinoob just listened to a podcast where Jimbo Wales was the guest and I wanted to know more about him. I check out the website that he was talking about, Wikipedia, and go to search for him. I didn't see his name anywhere since podcasts are audio only, so I have to guess at how his name is spelled. I can flip a coin and spell it like marine mammals or spell it like a Home Nation.   • Keep. The flame war on the page this targets was a piece of evidence in the Messhermit arbitration case, and this redirect is linked in the arbcom decision.
