Wikipedia:Votes for keep[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 17:11, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Useless and implausible redirect. I don't understand how this redirect is useful in any way. Pkbwcgs (talk) 22:44, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep seems like a very useful link for people who aren't familiar with the way deletion processes work on Wikipedia - someone looking at an AfD will see lots of what looks like votes for keeping the article. Thryduulf (talk) 22:46, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Thryduulf: I disagree. They both don't link together. In the last year there are two views for this redirect so it is not helpful in any way. Pkbwcgs (talk) 22:49, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as appears implausible, especially with such low page views. Rubbish computer (Talk: Contribs) 00:22, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. It might be old and venerable, but judging by its history, it was created in error: I don't think anyone would intentionally create a redirect with an ungrammatical title that makes it implausible as a search term (even in the context of the older days when AfD was called "Votes for Deletion"). – Uanfala (talk) 11:56, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. No incoming links, and a rather confusing title. I mean technically, anything not up for deletion is figuratively being voted for keep by the community. Steel1943 (talk) 04:30, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete because the preceding "Slogan" and each one's punctuation makes both of these unlikely search terms. Nominating one with the colon and one without the colon but with quotation marks; assuming delete consensus develops I will nominate the other 30 or so redirects that follow one or the other forms. UnitedStatesian (talk) 17:55, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as to both. We don't have a "Slogan" namespace. Note that the versions of the slogans without the word "Slogan" and the unnecessary punctuation will continue to point to their respective targets. bd2412 T 20:19, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both as above as they aren't ever referred to with Slogan as the lead word. Perhaps if the slogan was added to the end, but usually the phrase itself would have a match before needing to add slogan. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:56, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this had been caught 8 years ago it would have been an obvious WP:R3. The v in Cottonwvood makes this an implausible redirect. It would be plausible if it wasn't there. ~ GB fan 12:24, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Note also that a correctly-spelled redirect already exists. LJ  17:12, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
