Delete per WP:RFD#DELETE "10. If the redirect could plausibly be expanded into an article, and the target article contains virtually no information on the subject."     Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 21:32, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete WP:XY. Whether or not he's notable, he's played roles in multiple notable productions, so search results are more helpful than a pointer to just one of those roles. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 13:21, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

deletion as implausible typo. Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 19:05, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Her name is Yunaika. So possible Younyeka or Uniqua or anything could be a more common guess as they don't use an s-sound. Yunaska on the other hand is an Alaskan island and President Trump's daughter-in-law's maiden name.
  2. Her matronymic is Rogert, which if pronounced in French could approximate Roger, except this is Spanish, which would pronounce the -t and would have the name in the last position, not the middle.
  3. Her patronymic is Crawford, again not phonetically close to Graffor anymore than Gryffindor, and would be in the middle position instead of the last.
  4. So, unless some infinite amount of monkeys with an infinite amount of typewriters someday somehow manages this perfect storm of mistakes, it is implausible.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 16:54, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, unless there's some explanation for this that hasn't been made apparent. "Graffor" for "Crawford" is really beyond the bounds of plausibility. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:27, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as extremely implausible typo. I suspect that an error which originated in [1] was perpetuated in 1999 World Youth Championships in Athletics (which I just fixed) but it would take an awful lot of monkeys to repeat the mistake. Certes (talk) 00:53, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Luigi's Mansion 64[edit]

The result of the discussion was Speedy deleted by User:Athaenara. (non-admin closure) IffyChat -- 12:56, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete; I don't believe the game was ever planned to be on the Nintendo 64.

It was actually, read this: "Luigi's Mansion was originally planned to be a Nintendo 64 game." That said, I made this redirect 8 years ago and I don't see it having any practical use, since I doubt anyone would actually search for it with the 64 suffix, so I'm on board for deletion. Percivl (talk) 15:09, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The main page that section links to only says "Concepts for Luigi's Mansion, such as character designs, were being planned during the Nintendo 64's lifetime," with a now-deadlinked source, so I've changed it to reflect this. Raymond1922 (talk) 16:32, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Senator Russell[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was disambiguate. Deryck C. 10:53, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Russell is a fairly common name and there are others who were senators. Many of the 50 US states have senators and I found one quickly and presume there are many more. MB 01:44, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. I've created multiple redirects of this kind, including this one, and I always check beforehand if there are multiple individuals who qualify (such as Senator Cotton). In this case, I didn't see any search results for Wikipedia articles about other Senators with the same last name, so disambiguation is unnecessary. Disambiguate and use 59.149.124.29's draft. Airbornemihir (talk) 01:27, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like I may have spoken too soon... Steve Russell (politician) used to be an Oklahoma state senator, but I'm not sure it helps to disambiguate him from Richard B. Russell because he's now serving in the U.S. House, so my !vote remains the same. Airbornemihir (talk) 03:42, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:SCAM[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Wikipedia:Avoid scams. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 14:40, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I rarely hear the word "scam" used in this way; its usually only used when there is a motivation to gain money. I would suggest either deletion or re-targeting to Wikipedia:Avoid scams. funplussmart (talk) 01:03, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Wikipedia:Avoid scams. Raymond1922 (talk) 02:39, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak retarget but add hatnote. We always need to be extremely careful when retargetting shortcuts so that we don't break the meaning of old comments. In this case there are only three uses, one of which is explicitly unsure about whether it was the relevant guideline or not. At 41 hits this year it's also not massively used to find the guideline. If it is retargetted the new target absolutely must have a hatnote saying something like "WP:SCAM redirects here, until November 2018 it redirected to Wikipedia:Do not create hoaxes, links before then most likely refer to that page." Thryduulf (talk) 09:04, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget and add a hatnote to the target per Thryduulf. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 13:57, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Wikipedia:Avoid scams. The word "scam" nowadays rarely refers to hoaxes, it more refers to phishing scams. --Atomicdragon136 (talk) 20:19, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
