The Grand Pumpkin[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Treehouse of Horror XIX#It's the Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 04:37, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Grand Pumpkin doesn't refer to The Great Pumpkin, it's a parody of The Great Pumpkin that The Simpsons did in one of their Halloween episodes. Propose retargeting to Treehouse of Horror XIX#It's the Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse. That episode is mentioned briefly in the Great Pumpkin article but in more detail in the article relating to the Simpsons episode. Smartyllama (talk) 18:27, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to the Simpsons episode as suggested by the nominator. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 18:32, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget as above. Parody name of Great Pumpkin, but most of the detail is in The Simpsons episode. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:47, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retargeting seems entirely appropriate, given the actual coverage there. --Bejnar (talk) 19:16, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - If they were pronounced the same, I could see keeping it, but according to the article, he pronounces it Doo-See. Smartyllama (talk) 18:28, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete This could have gone to Ed Schultz or The Ed Show as the propagator of this, but it's a limited-time neologism [1] and not a long-time use as with The Rush Limbaugh Show#Jargon.— Preceding unsigned comment added by AngusWOOF (talkcontribs) 17:54, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As Long As I Have You[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was move the disambiguation page to As Long as I Have You and redirect the caps to the dab page. I already did the former, while working the WP:MALPLACED queue, before I even noticed this discussion. Now I'll do the latter. wbm1058 (talk) 03:38, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"As Long As I Have You" is an old Elvis song without its own article, and the term currently redirects to the Elvis album it is on. But we now have a new 2018 album with that title: As Long as I Have You (album) by Roger Daltrey. Wondering if the search term should now go to Daltrey's album because it is a concrete article as opposed to a non-article song by Elvis. Also note the different capitalizations for the second "As". ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:29, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the incoming redirects are going either to Elvis Presley or Garnet Mimms articles. I'll try to deflect those to the right pages. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:34, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have to rethink whether the 2018 album is the primary topic. With the other incoming redirects as such, it may be better to move the disambiguation page to As Long as I Have You and redirect the caps to the dab page instead. Comment from Nominator - I'm happy to see anything being done here, but just wanted to add my two cents on the Primary Topic standard. Perhaps "As Long as I have You" should go directly to Daltrey's album, and at that article there would be a hatnote saying something like "This article is about the Roger Daltrey album. For other uses, see As Long as I Have You (disambiguation)." That's my humble interpretation, at least. Thanks. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 21:52, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of this term in target article: no evidence that it is a useful redirect. I can see it as a shortened version of his name, but there's no mention of this being used. PamD 12:45, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete no evidence of actual use. To me, it looks more like an accidental elision, not likely to be repeated. Google search found no usage. --Bejnar (talk) 20:19, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

SEPS (disambiguation)[edit]

The result of the discussion was Delete. Double redirect to an article section. JHunterJ (talk) 18:54, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. The target is not a disambiguation page, it is now a redirect to the only use of the upper-case term. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:06, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • The broader context here involves the fate of Seps: it was recently converted from a dab page to a redirect to Tetradactylus. Given that the word seps has two meanings: one for Seps (legendary creature), and another one for various snake-like lizards (I'd presume that's the basis for redirecting to the Tetradactylus genre, though I suspect the term might have a broader range). I don't believe there's a primary topic, so I'd opt for restoring the dab page. If that happens, then an entry should be added for the Southern Electrical Power System (which is the target of SEPS) and the redirect SEPS (disambiguation) will appear a bit more appropriate than it does now, though I'm not sure whether it wil be appropriate enough to warrant keeping (there will still be only one meaning for the all-caps term). – Uanfala (talk) 17:40, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Uanfala: It was I who overwrote the Seps dab page and redirected it to Tetradactylus with a new hatnote to Seps (legendary creature) (the two lizardy meanings are clearly related and the legendary creature has a disambiguated title already). The lower-case term has two uses dealt with by hatnotes; as you say the upper-case has only one. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:41, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Somatosensory evoked potential is referred to as SEPs according to its article. SEPs is also used as a plural for various things acronymed to SEP, so it would seem useful to have a disambiguation page covering all the capitalisations in one place. If there is a disambiguation page this redirect should point to it. Thryduulf (talk)
Thanks, good spot. The lead there should say "SEP test..." rather than "SEPs tests" so I've edited it to make it clearer. There is a disambiguation page SEP. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 14:54, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of any of these subjects exists on the target article after their recent removal. I can't seem to find a suitable target for each. Note: Danyka's entry exists at Nadeau which should be removed from the page if the result is delete. 2601:589:8000:2ED0:8409:7077:84CA:9B1 (talk) 02:46, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
