Delete. As far as I can tell, the redirect doesn’t make sense. “WAFFLES” is not an abbreviation of “Writing about fiction”; WP:WAF, which also redirects to this guideline, is. Wikipedia:WAFFLES is not used on any pages except in an eight-and-a-half-year-old comment on an archived talk page. Interqwark talk contribs 20:01, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak keep the etymology of this is clearly from the WAF acronym combined with the verb sense of wikt:waffle ("To speak or write at length without any clear point or aim; To vacillate.") - excess detail and unclear focus being not uncommon problems with articles about fiction. It gets a smattering of hits, so it's not entirely unused, and there aren't any competing uses so I'm inclined to leave it be per WP:CHEAP. Thryduulf (talk) 23:37, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom, this is not an intuitive shortcut and does not make sense. -- Tavix (talk) 03:19, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Ill-conceived at the time it was created and still so now. "To speak or write at length without any clear point or aim; To vacillate" ≠ Writing about fiction; encyclopedic writing should always have a clear point. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 02:48, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Personal achievement[edit]

An achievement is not necessarily a goal. Steel1943 (talk) 15:53, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think it would be hard to have an article on the idea of "achievement" beyond a WP:DICDEF, and "personal achievement" isn't saying much more than that. Need for achievement is maybe the closest thing we have to this, but retargeting there would feel pretty wonky. --BDD (talk) 19:09, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Since “goal” can mean “personal achievement,” I don’t see a problem with keeping it. Many redirects are synonyms and related terms of the article title. Interqwark talk contribs 08:19, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • This point is flawed. It is like saying that the apple is a fruit, and the fruit is an apple. The above comment represents the latter of the points in my previous sentence, and is just not always true. In cases like this, it would be better to have the title deleted/empty so that Wikipedia's search function can help readers locate the subject they are attempting to locate when searching for this term. Implausible search term. Start off as a copy of Seven Seas Entertainment, but never went anywhere. —Farix (t | c) 14:31, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond the links as the result of this RfD, I don't see any others. —Farix (t | c) 21:43, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Other than the links that are a direct result of this RfD (user talk notification and article alerts notifications), there are two other links Wikipedia:Database reports/Untagged stubs (which is an indirect result of this RfD) and User:JesseW/List of articles about websites which is a database dump of articles with titles which contain ".com", ".net" or ".org". Thryduulf (talk) 09:33, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So nothing that would impede the deletion of this redirect. —Farix (t | c) 11:58, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. Quick and dirty dab drafted. feminist and Thryduulf, please expand. ~ Amory (utc) 19:31, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I created this redirect because I don't think "Music book" should be a red link. Is the current WP:XNR appropriate? I considered pointing this to sheet music though that seems too specific. feminist (talk) 14:18, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate. It seems that "music book" can mean prose books about music or musicians (fictional or non-fictional), Encyclopaedias about music, sheet music, song books, possibly Hymnals, and maybe other uses too. The category would be a good see also link on the dab page but not the sole target I think. Thryduulf (talk) 14:34, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate per Thryduulf. Interqwark talk contribs 08:24, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely and unneeded redirect that is not clearly mentioned in target. 1 page view since creation. It was originally created with different content and later redirected hoping it may be useful but it proved the opposite.–Ammarpad (talk) 13:45, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment This was redirected on 12 April this year but the link above only counts views since 25 May, between the day after redirection and the day before this nomination (i.e. 13 April to 14 June) it actually received 5 views [1]. Thryduulf (talk) 14:22, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. While I can see that this could be a useful redirect, it isn't at present as the information being searched for is not at the target (or at least not clearly). Thryduulf (talk) 14:27, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Thryduulf. Interqwark talk contribs 08:24, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
