CNN2[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Calponin 2. (non-admin closure) feminist 10:47, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Though "CNN2" was the original name for the redirect's current target, most results today for searching "CNN2" on search engines lead to Calponin 2. On the Google search link located at WP:DETERMINEPRIMARY, when searching for "CNN2", all tabs in Google except for the "Videos" and "Images" tabs return results for Calponin 2. I considered a WP:BOLD retarget to Calponin 2, but since the redirect has targeted its current article for almost 8 years, figured it'd be better to put up for discussion. • Retarget to Calponin 2 (with hatnote on that page referring to other meaning). I created the hatnote several years ago but have no objection to retargeting it. Neutralitytalk 18:50, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese Shanghai[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget the singular to Old City (Shanghai)#Old City and foreign concessions. I'm reading a lot of the delete !votes as opinions against the current target only. With none of the supporter of deletion expressly against the proposed retarget, I'm going with it. That being said, I'm going to delete the plural as it wouldn't make sense in this context. -- Tavix (talk) 16:38, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Part of me wants to redirect this to Shanghai, but another part of me says that makes no sense and this should just be deleted. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 23:53, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I agree with the part that says this makes no sense. It is more like a neologism than a real name that describes something. Steve Quinn (talk) 23:59, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I thought we already deleted all of these inexplicable Neelix redirects.- MrX 00:00, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Bad news: User:Anomie/Neelix list/6 Oiyarbepsy (talk) 03:52, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per X1 Neelix Legacypac (talk) 01:33, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Shanghai wasn't split into two cities of different nationalities. And no mention of this term in that chicken article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:49, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment Shanghai was split into two different cities though, during the Western colonial occupation of the Bund with the no Chinese zone; and during the Japanese occupation, with Japanese only zone. There's also the "Chinatown" in Shanghai (the old city, and Yuyuan) -- 65.94.42.131 (talk) 05:27, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If that's the case, it should go to those sections, not a section about chicken. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:08, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak keep, plausible alternative name (or at least "Chinese Shanghai fowl" is). Removed from the article here. Ref 1, Ref 2. —Kusma (t·c) 13:05, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per the IP, since this covers what was once the Chinese section of Shanghai. Nyttend (talk) 02:06, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What about Chinese Shanghais? It clearly can't refer to a part of Shanghai, but can refer to the chicken breed. —Kusma (t·c) 10:22, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Artists who have been involved in a feud with Drake[edit]

The result of the discussion was no consensus. No prejudice against refinement or retarget. Deryck C. 11:11, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a redirect to a section of the Drake (musician) article that no longer exists (it seems controversies is the new section title). I'm not sure how to classify this, my best guess is it was a redirect set up for a specific purpose (i.e. someone wanted to wikilink along the lines of "See Artists who have been involved in a feud with Drake"). It has no incoming links and seems rather implausible to be typed in. menaechmi (talk) 16:02, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is this really the best target? (Recently created)  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  05:25, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. When I first saw this nomination, I thought the redirect could refer to a product or company named "iPradio" (like several other products that start with a lowercase "i", popularized by Apple.) However, as such a named product or company doesn't exist (per my research), I cannot say this concern is a point to enforce deletion of this redirect. Steel1943 (talk) 16:36, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename to IP radio as per the list of aliases for Internet radio. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:49, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, since IP radio is listed along with web radio, net radio, streaming radio, e-radio, online radio, webcasting as redirects to Internet radio. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 12:56, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I created this link as Broadcatching said it was common terminology. IP referring to Internet Protocol or rather simply Internet nowadays. Ldfjx (talk) 02:09, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
IP radio is the common term. I'm only seeing IPradio put together when used as a hashtag or a website. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:57, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
