Seth Ambroz[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 03:18, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WP:XY situation. People searching this name aren't going to expect to go to a list that only mentions him as being on the list and gives no additional information. Better served as a red link. DJSasso (talk) 16:17, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. His name appears on a few lists, but the aboslute most we have about him anywhere is at 2011–12 Columbus Blue Jackets season - "Seth Ambroz, a projected third line enforcer, had some believing he would be taken in the second round prior to falling to the fifth.". This is redirecting to a different person of the same name. Not really really a valid redirect as it is likely to confuse a reader. DJSasso (talk) 16:11, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Corbin Baldwin[edit]

WP:XY situation. Anyone searching for Corbin Baldwin is not expecting to go to a single season he played in. There are many more reasonable targets if there was going to be a redirect at all which I am not sure there should be. DJSasso (talk) 15:43, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - the redirect target is not particularly appropriate to the subject and is hardly what a reader would expect. Rlendog (talk) 14:32, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Thryduulf (talk) 10:48, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot) well we're allready discussing A, Sweden so we might as well combine this with that. Si Trew (talk) 15:32, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. "Ø" isn't on an English keyboard. No reason to hinder our ability to navigate to the target page. Steel1943 (talk) 18:55, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep. The only reason this wouldn't redirect to the current target is if it were ambiguous, which it isn't. Thryduulf (talk) 10:49, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot) not Germanic but Finnish entry into Eurovision song contest. Si Trew (talk) 13:42, 25 April 2017 (UTC) Si Trew (talk) 13:42, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: as it is in compliance with and supportive of the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions (as detailed at Template:R to diacritics#Usage). Wes Wolf Talk 08:55, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I can find no evidence of use of this transliteration that doesn't originate from Wikipedia. Tie uuteen paivaan, with ä → a rather than ä → ae, is definitely a good redirect, including for the reasons Wesley Wolf gives, but not this one. the ä → ae transliteration is not standard for Finnish (and on this occasion the nominator is correct about that) so we would only usually keep it if it were demonstrably used. Thryduulf (talk) 10:55, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I did not know that Tie uuteen paivaan also existed, and would like to thank Thryduulf for making awareness of its existence. That article better addresses Template:R to diacritics#Usage. Wes Wolf Talk 12:41, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: Taking into account my comment above to Thryduulf, I have withdrawn my !keep, and hereby change it to !delete. There is already an article addressing the {{R to diacritics}} solution. Tie uuteen paeivaeaen is a meaningless duplicate that does not even address the diacritics correctly. Wes Wolf Talk 12:41, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(NOT eubot) WP:RFD#D2 not at target. Si Trew (talk) 13:38, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. "Áed Finn" is variant form of "Áed Find". It shouldn't be deleted.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 00:59, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. As my honourable friend says, same person (Áed f. Eochaid, died approx 778) as can be seen on Google Books. Finn, Find. Angus McLellan (Talk) 00:45, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot) Created from Áed Finn. In this article, I find a lot of Finds, but no finns. Weakly WP:RFD#D2 confusing not at target. Si Trew (talk) 13:34, 25 April 2017 (UTC) Si Trew (talk) 13:37, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. Like I said above, "Áed Finn" is a variant of "Áed Find".--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 01:03, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot). I would say this is pushing it. Although I would let through "Mueller" for "Müller", I can hardly stick a {{R from other name}} on this when it was not his other name. Back-formed from P.L.S. Müller. Si Trew (talk) 13:28, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot) back formed from Pütürge. Not Germanic umlaut, but Turkish. WP:RFD#D5 nonsense. Si Trew (talk) 13:22, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot) various language redirects are listed in the lede of the article, but this isn't one of them. [[[WP:RFD#D2]] confusing. Si Trew (talk) 13:20, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep since the German title Landgräfin is explained in the article and is a plausible search term, and this is a logical no-diacritics version of it. Sideways713 (talk) 20:36, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Sideways713 and WP:DIACRITICS. Thryduulf (talk) 11:38, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Neither is at target, WP:RFD#D2 confusing. If we have nothing to say about something, we should say so. [[User:SimonTrew|Si Tr(talk) 13:16, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I don't understand your process or what exactly is being discussed here, but Sauvakävely should continue to redirect to Nordic walking, that's a no-brainer if you ask me. What is confusing about this redirect? Read first sentence at Nordic_walking#History for context. It's just the Finnish name for the same thing, and some people might use that even in English context, thus the need for redirect. Jonik (talk) 13:33, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot). She is patently not the real Linda, but the target does not say she is the bogus one. WP:RFD#D5 nonsense. Si Trew (talk) 13:13, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • delete Oddly enough, there is at least one (non-notable) "Bogus Linda" out there, but no evidence that this fellow is ever called this. Mangoe (talk) 15:58, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
