Seems facetious to me. Delete or redirect to Hermann Goering? William Avery (talk) 14:33, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, the Nazi Goering redirect to Nasi goreng is grotesquely wrong and not funny either. Is it a joke? The redirect to Hermann Goering is not quite right either. Since when wikipedia have a policy on creating an obscure title of an article in this fashion: "Nazi Goering refer to Goering that was the leader of Nazi". In this sense, we might create the article "Apple Jobs; Steve Jobs that create Apple computer", or even "Democrats Obama". I strongly suggest to delete Nazi Goering article altogether. Gunkarta  talk  15:49, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete it's an implausible misspelling (three typos) for the dish, and as Gunkarta points out it's a rather obscure way of referring to Hermann, which sounds to me like Wp:R#D8. Created today so there is no concern about breaking old off-Wiki links. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 15:57, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy delete per WP:CSD#R3 as an unlikely typo. 99% of editor's contributions are creating unnecessary redirects like this one – just RxD'ed 20 of his other redirects of a similar style. kashmiri TALK 17:04, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy delete per WP:CSD#G3 as pure vandalism. At best, this is a tasteless joke. Safiel (talk) 17:59, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as per the above comments CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 02:01, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per the comments above. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:07, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as implausible synonym --Lenticel (talk) 12:38, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Hermann Göring per nominator's suggestion as a search aid, as Göring (frequently spelled Goering by English sources) was a prominent member of the Nazi Party, making it a plausible search for someone who knows his affiliation but not his first hame. For consistency, I added the lowercase edition of this redirect which was already speedied. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 16:52, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete These ordinary Japanese dictionary words (Wiktionary: 新たなる; 挑戦者) are Wp:PARTIALMATCHes for multiple creative works, but don't have any specific Wp:PRIMARYREDIRECT encyclopedic meaning in English. (In Japanese, ja:新たなる aratanaru doesn't exist, while ja:挑戦者 chousensha is about a brand name of the Japanese company I-O Data.) In any case, the best outcome here would be deletion so that the user sees the search results (and all the partial matches) when they type this into the box. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 07:35, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Delete. Not a Korean topic. Not an attested word. Gorobay (talk) 02:55, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete complete nonsense. Not even a plausible transcription or misspelling to a Korean speaker, and anyway as the nominator points out this modern Indian district has nothing to do with the Korean language. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 04:20, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • I am Wp:BOLDly adding User:SpaceWow3's other new redirects to this nomination for the same reason. None of these are plausible misspellings; they violate all the rules of how foreign names are transcribed into hangul either in South or North Korean standards, and the targets have nothing to do with Korean language or culture. Apparently this is the result of someone with a limited knowledge of hangul trying to transcribe English letters rather than pronunciations. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 04:47, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • Two of the redirects by the same creator don't quite fit that same pattern but I've added them anyway: 팅팅 to Ting ting (which is a plausible spelling of the target but that target still has nothing to do with Korean), and 슴슴 to hangul (the redirect says seumseum, a more-or-less-real word that has nothing to do with the target). 210.6.254.106 (talk) 04:52, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all but "Hangul" because they are completely unrelated to Korean and thus have no affinity for the language. -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 10:06, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment "Hangul" should not have been bundled into this discussion, since the target is a Korean topic. -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 10:06, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • Procedural separate the Hangul redirect should be separated and discussed separately, since it completely messes up the grouping of this set of redirects, since the target is a Korean topic. -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 10:07, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
        • It "completely messes up" nothing. It's a bunch of garbage by the same creator that all falls under Wp:R#D8. Wikipedia:Be bold and do the separation yourself if you really think it deserves its own discussion with a different outcome. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 10:18, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related deletions. --BDD (talk) 15:55, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all - foreign language redirects are simply not needed, except in a few limited situations. GiantSnowman 16:07, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year! Since it's no longer 2015, there can't be any more upcoming movies in 2015, making this redirect outdated. -- Tavix (talk) 00:16, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) sst 15:02, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Deletion - Only incoming links coming from articles relating to albums for the band As Friends Rust, which is the target of this redirect. Abovethestorm (talk) 00:04, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep lack of incoming links is not a deletion criterion. This person is insufficiently notable to have his own article, so Wp:REDLINK does not apply. Additionally, judging from Google News there is no other currently-notable person by this name, so Wp:R#D2 (confusing) does not apply either. (If the high school footballer becomes notable in the future, this should be made into a page about him with a hatnote pointing to the band.) 210.6.254.106 (talk) 07:49, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - "Members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability" per WP:BAND. I checked some sources and there does appear to be a member of the band with this name.Godsy(TALKCONT) 01:59, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above. This is what redirects are for. Rossami (talk) 03:17, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - and I suggest that @Abovethestorm: stops nominating any more articles/redirects for speedy deletion/RFD until they learn the rules. GiantSnowman 07:59, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Joseph Simmons (Florida musician)[edit]

Request for Deletion - Only one incoming link outside of userpages which of itself appears to be an error. The link in the article that is a the source of the links appears to have been meant to redirect to Joseph Simmons of Run-D.M.C.. Abovethestorm (talk) 00:01, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - "Members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability" per WP:BAND. Disambiguation is necessary because the title Joseph Simmons exists about another subject. I checked some sources and there does appear to be a member of the band with this name.Godsy(TALKCONT) 00:23, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above. This is what redirects are for. Rossami (talk) 03:17, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
