The result of the discussion was speedy delete, G7. I also assume it was listed at the time, but it's not helpful now. --BDD (talk) 18:17, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This 2010 meme is unmentioned in the target List of Internet phenomena article, which presently lists only examples which have their own article. I assume it was previously there and the article was slimmed down so that it now just lists notable examples. McGeddon (talk) 17:54, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not a plausible typo. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 08:04, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Champion: It could be retargeted to Yakitate!! Japan, which uses a bread called "Ja-pan" as a fictional plot element. I personally believe this is a plausible typo but if need be it can be retargeted. WhisperToMe (talk) 08:11, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete This will create problem for any valid future use of Ja-pan. Creating spell check / autocorrect features in Search module is the proper way to address the issue here. Devopam (talk) 11:33, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment - What would be a possible/potential reasonable future use of "Ja-pan"? Aside from a misspelling of "Japan" there is also the bread from Yakitate!! Japan @Devopam: WhisperToMe (talk) 14:33, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm seeing it more as a stylization thing on the term, but the manga is never referred to as "Ja-pan" by itself, so it wouldn't be a useful redirect. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:23, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment is the bread from that series fairly significant? Then it can absorb the redirect. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:39, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Delete no notable uses with the hyphen of the word by itself. The manga is referred to as Yakitate though. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:26, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete because it is not a plausible typo. I oppose redirecting it to the manga article; it is only tangentially relevant and of the 75 hits "Ja-pan" received in the last year, I seriously doubt any of those were by people searching for the plot element of a manga. In response to the other comments above, (1) keeping the redirect does not create any problem for future valid use of the title, so that is not a reason for deleting. Anybody can edit the redirect right now and replace it with an article. (2) There's no point speculating on what a possible future use is. A movie with that name could be released tomorrow, but it is irrelevant to this discussion. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 01:58, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I also think that this is an implausible typo, and if there's no real use for this, well, we should just trash it. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 01:54, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 05:17, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete What is this supposed to represent within the target section, anyway? Gestrid (talk) 06:53, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Some sort of internet meme but hasn't been notable enough to be mentioned in the actual KFC article or the company's history. [2] Needs notability first as with The Subservient Chicken. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:44, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - While the meme indeed exists, It doesn't appear particularly significant or notable. That fact may change as time goes on, but, for now, I also support deletion. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 21:35, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Disambiguate. We don't need to list each redirect separately. Following the result at WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2016 November 30#Hawaii Five-0 and the previous RM, I think we can infer that all can be disambiguated.  — Amakuru (talk) 09:02, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly an implausible typo but not eligible for CSD. Also appears to be some sort of joke about dyslexia. Gestrid (talk) 02:05, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete WP:R#DELETE 8, novel or obscure synonym. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 02:09, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • weak keep as Google results show this is not uncommonly used to informally refer to dyslexia including by dyslexics and people working in the field. Thryduulf (talk) 08:42, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete that it is the word spelled backwards does not make it a plausible typo. Article does not mention sequence reversing, which brings up a few random book references, but doesn't indicate that this spelling of the name is notable. Misleading, this term is not mentioned in target. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 02:03, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as creator: I was young and naive when I created this - Ollieinc (talk) 08:22, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. This is far from an implausible search term, and it wouldn't surprise me if we had an article about it someday but we don't appear to have currently and there is no other suitable target I could find. Thryduulf (talk) 08:45, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not a likely search term for Hi or anything else. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 01:43, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep or Retarget to HI which includes a link to Hello and a Wiktionary link. Using this as an interjection meaning "hello" is very common and the stats show that this is indeed a very likely search term, averaging one hit a day since January. The history shows that if we don't have something here it will likely be repeatedly recreated as tests or nonsense, we could salt it but that doesn't help anyone who is looking for encyclopaedic content here when we have at least two likely topics that they could be looking for. Thryduulf (talk) 08:54, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The greeting is the most prominent, if not only, usage for this rendering from the dab. Plausible search term given the sensible natural disambiguation. --BDD (talk) 18:25, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as with Hiya! as primary topic. I don't see any notable media with this title for it to go to the dab page. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:51, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep plausible synonym of the greeting --Lenticel (talk) 01:46, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Garrido[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was disambiguate. --BDD (talk) 16:54, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A non-disambiguated title generally should not redirect to a disambiguated version of the same title. Given the existence of Garrido (grape), I do not think moving back should be the solution. GeoffreyT2000 (talk, contribs) 00:22, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Move Garrido (surname) over the redirect and make it into a dab page listing the surnames and an other uses section listing Garrido (grape), Garrido fino (a different grape, I've added hatnotes to both articles) and Garridos (a football team). Internal and external searches are clear that people with the surname are Garrido are the primary topic but no one person is sufficiently prominent to be the target. Thryduulf (talk) 00:54, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Create a disambiguation page at that title, linking to the surname and all other uses of the term. I agree with the nom that moving back should not be the solution. -- Tavix (talk) 17:57, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • I don't think there are sufficient uses to warrant both a dab page and a surname page, and your suggestion would make people looking for someone with this surname (the majority of people, based on google results) have to go through two links to get where they want rather than just one. Thryduulf (talk) 22:13, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's a fatal problem with your suggestion. If we turn the surname page into a dab, we couldn't add any additional information about the surname. That's a lot bigger of a problem then saving people a click. However, after doing some actual searching, I do agree that the surname is primary. The surname page should be moved to the base title and the disambiguation page would then be created at Garrido (disambiguation). -- Tavix (talk) 22:29, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
