AUKMIN[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. JohnCD (talk) 15:36, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Australia-United Kingdom Ministerial Consultations is a diplomatic forum involving Australia and the UK. It's mentioned at Australia–United Kingdom relations, but it really isn't explained there at all. I would recommend deleting per WP:REDLINK. BDD (talk) 19:19, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

  • Comment. The rather maximus Auk is rather minimal these days, I think, but would that be possibly stretchable: Unlikely but just throwing it in for consideration. Si Trew (talk) 18:41, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oof. Two relists for only one comment. I don't really have an opinion on the redirect, but procedural delete per no consensus. Ivanvector (talk) 14:03, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:REDLINK and the fact that it should have been deleted over a week ago. Tavix |  Talk  17:02, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment as a rather bizarre way of thinking, what's the difference between an Auk and a Minah? Si Trew (talk) 20:02, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Why does it matter? That's not what we're discussing. Tavix |  Talk  23:52, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It would appear that the difference is that an auk is a bird superficially similar to a penguin, whereas Minah is a South Korean singer. (The Myna is a type of starling.) Bizarre indeed! --BDD (talk) 13:39, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So one of the birds sings and the other is from Australia :)? I don't suppose by any change there is a ministry in Aukland that has an acronym of AUKMIN? You know, in that kinda Miniluv kind of way? Si Trew (talk) 10:55, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There is apparently a ministryofhair.co.nz Ministry of Hair, which is a bit annoying. In the UK they always have punny names, they must teach them at barber's school so they are always called It's A Snip or Do Yer Nut or Thatcher's and stuff like that. The best one I saw on an A board was "Hair cut while you wait". I mean, you don't really have much option do you? I'll leave my hair now and come back later for it while I get some shopping done... Dread (fear)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. JohnCD (talk) 15:38, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do we need this? Also, confusing. The "fear" in parenthesis implies that the searcher is familiar with fear, and wants to know specifically about the form of fear that is dread. It would be disappointing for them to find only Fear. Mr. Guye (talk) 22:42, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. Um, Exodus 15:16 starts: "Fear and dread shall fall upon them..." Si Trew (talk) 10:24, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Fear and dread is red, though. Si Trew (talk) 10:26, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Since Fear evidently isn't the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for Dread, this is harmless. If it were to be its own article, Dread (emotion) would probably be more appropriate as a title, but this is fine as a redirect. --BDD (talk) 14:19, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, plausible search term for someone looking for dread, the emotion, and wanting to disambiguate from other "dreads". Siuenti (talk) 22:12, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Railway Depots in Turkmenistan[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was procedural close. Since they aren't true redirects, category redirects should be discussed at WP:CFD. --BDD (talk) 13:25, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not recently created, so no WP:CSD case, but wrongly capitalized and contained a single article. PanchoS (talk) 18:40, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sing-Akademie zu Berlin[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was wrong forum. This is actually a move request for the target to move over the redirect. (Technically, it's a multiple page move request.) This move request will be transferred to Talk:Berliner Singakademie. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 03:00, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Delete the redirect and move Berliner Singakademie to Sing-Akademie zu Berlin. Berliner Singakademie can then become an disambiguation page, pointing to Sing-Akademie zu Berlin and Berliner Singakademie (East Berlin). Alternatively, Berliner Singakademie (East Berlin) could be moved to Berliner Singakademie with a hatnote pointing to Sing-Akademie zu Berlin. Robert Weemeyer (talk) 08:44, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I see mainly two possibilities: cover them all in one article (with lots of redirects), or keep separate ones (only then do we need a disambiguation). The name of a potential single article (which I would prefer) doesn't matter too much as long as all major names are mentioned bold in a longer lead that points out more history. The present state, to have one name the article name and another the only name mentioned in the lead is not helpful for historical understanding. An infobox with clear coordination of names and years might help. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:21, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As these are two separate choirs, both still existing today, I would not like to mix them up in one article just because the newer one was named after the older one. -- Robert Weemeyer (talk) 11:14, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"East Berlin" seem an anachronistic disambiguation for a choir of today. If we need an extra article for the stub, we should think about that. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:21, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Compare de: de:Sing-Akademie zu Berlin, de:Berliner Singakademie, - we could do that also, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:24, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's right, that disambiguation is anachronistic. And nowadays Sing-Akademie zu Berlin is based (again) in what used to be East Berlin. So moving Berliner Singakademie (East Berlin) to Berliner Singakademie would really be desirable. -- Robert Weemeyer (talk) 11:56, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
