This Thai word means ‘small’. I don’t know why it redirects to this man’s article. Delete it unless the word refers to the man. Gorobay (talk) 20:52, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Delete these redirects whose languages and targets are unrelated. Gorobay (talk) 17:03, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete WP:NOTDIC wikipedia is not a translation dictionary. These are natively English language concepts with no strong connection to Thai. -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 01:17, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep without prejudice to retargetting. There is clearly a consensus to keep this as a redirect to somewhere, as the discussion is unlikely to gain more input I'm going to leave the question of retargetting as unresolved but without prejudice to a future nomination or other normal editorial action. Move or delete because the name unnecessarily contains a slash (AFAICT this is not a subpage). —rybec 08:44, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My guess is that the creator of this redirect planned to use it and offer it as a shortcut. Do you see any harm in that? – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 15:27, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there are two other similar shortcuts here and here. Both have the backslash (/) in them. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 16:41, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There's a strong precedent in Project space for this sort of thing, and if it's useful to the WikiProject it's useful. See WP:A/R/C, WP:AN/I, etc. I see no harm. Said as a member of the AFC project ~ Amory (utc) 05:30, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This and all similar redirects should be deleted, as Romania is a Orthodox country, the Archbishopric of Arad easily can be identified as the episcopal see of the Romanian Orthodox Church, and the ROC does not use the term of diocese as to designate its administrative structures, but that of parish, protopopiate, bishopric, archbishopric and metropolis. The proper term would so be that of Archbishopric of Arad, as opposed to that of Archdiocese of Arad. I would say that the designation of diocese applied to an Orthodox Church is non standard and should be avoided. In Romania the usage of the term diocese and archdiocese is traditional to the use of the Catholic Church. Ioan-Mihai Gale I (talk) 01:27, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep the problem stated of there being multiple archbishop titles is solved with a disambiguation page. Considering that "archbishopric" is something that some users will use, it's a valid searchterm/redirect. -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 01:23, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep As best I can ascertain, there is no disambiguation issue here, as there is no Roman diocese with anything like the same name. A naive search should find the correct diocese even if the terminology doesn't line up exactly right. I see no reason to remove this just to satisfy the urge to keep Eastern and Roman church terminology sharply distinct. Mangoe (talk) 13:28, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see, by the way, that the Romanian Orthodox Church established an "Archdiocese of the Americas"; they are a better usage guide than any of us can be. Be that as it may, I think this excessive fiddliness of terms is extremely questionable given that they are without exception translations; I see no evidence that the translations of "archbishopric" or "archdiocese" are incorrect.
