The result of the discussion was speedy delete, G5 by User:RHaworth. --BDD (talk) 16:13, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We have separate articles on Ronnie Screwvala and Ashutosh Gowarikar. There is no need for this redirect, which points only to Ronnie Screwvala. Psychonaut (talk) 20:21, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Delete for the above reason. This is the result of sheer laziness which should've been fixed by simply adding a middle bracket.--Launchballer 21:08, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it's the result of incompetence on the part of a long-term sockpuppeteer who was blocked for said incompetence. Unfortunately his latest sock is running amok with these sorts of disruptive edits and article creations. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Noormohammed satya. —Psychonaut (talk) 16:32, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely to be ever used. No page history at all. Beerest355 Talk 20:03, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure this can be speedied under {{db-r2}}.--Launchballer 21:04, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sadly, that doesn't apply. It would be for the opposite, if Scott Sewperman redirected to Wikipedia:Scott Sewperman. There are other redirects from WP space to article space, such as WP:DELETIONIST. Beerest355 Talk 22:27, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What the hell is that doing in articlespace? Either way, delete.--Launchballer 23:20, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
WP:CSD#G6 is the right one to use here. — This, that and the other (talk) 03:03, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Given that the redirect has been deleted and the article is on its way out, I think we're done here.--Launchballer 16:55, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This search term could be used for all sorts of other things; and certainly isn't dedicated to this one event. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 09:11, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. JohnCD (talk) 10:50, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion, please. I had initially stuck a {{db-r3}} tag on it and corrected all the links to it, but WWGB contested it and Amatulic concurred. 25,000 google hits is not enough to justify a redirect, let alone 6,560, particularly when Google says "Showing results for bryan adams; Search instead for byran admas". Launchballer 17:37, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see how Google searches are relevant to redirects. The point of a redirect is to make it easier for people to find things. I've spelled Bryan as Byran often. The dyslexia article suggest that 5-10% of a population suffer from this. The "cost" of maintaining a redirect is negligible for the benefit of that group. How does the existence of this redirect harm the project? ~Amatulić (talk) 17:56, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Google hits is the reason we're here; that was WWGB's rationale for contesting its deletion. My rationale is that as Google redirects people who type in the misspelled title to the correct title, the redirect is unnecessary.--Launchballer 19:31, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
