This is an implausible redirect, as the Hymac is a competitor of Steelfab. Although Hymac does not have an article, it is not really correct to direct anyone searching for the company's article to the article on its competition. GregJackP Boomer! 23:38, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree HYMAC had no connection to steelfab what so ever, so the redirect has to be deleted. As HYMAC is an active company the redirect is miss leading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tonyhymac (talkcontribs) 12:20, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Masonic funeral[edit]

Unnecessary redirect. There is no reference to this in the target article. MSJapan (talk) 19:32, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The target is still invalid, as one is not the other. Nomination stands. MSJapan (talk) 23:28, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy close The target of this redirect is Maurerische Trauermusik. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 23:31, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • This strikes me as a delete, not a move. If someone is searching for information on what a Masonic funeral is, I think they would be surprised to be redirected to an article on a piece of Mozart's music. The problem is that Masonic funerals are not that notable. Blueboar (talk) 02:18, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep targeted at Masonic rituals, don't target to the Mozart piece. The Mozart piece has barely anything to do with the topic. The Mozart suggestion is like redirecting Live and Let Die (song) to movie since the song was written for a movie. Ego White Tray (talk) 07:40, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - The target article has no mention of it. That's the whole point of the nomination in the first place. MSJapan (talk) 04:59, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Georgia State[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Retarget per nom. Ruslik_Zero 16:18, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Georgia State University. Currently this redirect points to a disambig page that primarily serves to distinguish the U.S. state of Georgia and its institutions from the European country of Georgia and its institutions. However, there is no article in the encyclopedia that would commonly be referred to as "Georgia State" other than Georgia State University. Even if there was, the University would be the primary topic of the term (the term might also refer to the sports program of that University, but that is a component of the University, and not ambiguous to it). In any case, the current redirect target is more likely to confuse readers than to help them. bd2412 T 15:36, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

  • Retarget to Georgia (U.S. state), which is probably the intent here. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 23:03, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looking at Google results, in American usage the primary topic is clearly the University, but worldwide it's less clear. Based on this I'd suggest to retarget to Georgia State University per the nominator and then add a hatnote for those looking for the state. Thryduulf (talk) 12:42, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Per the comment below, I think the simplest would be to include the dab page in the hatnote, so either:
      • {{redirect|Georgia State|the state|Georgia (U.S. state)|the sports teams|Georgia State Panthers|other uses|Georgia (disambiguation)}}; or
      • {{redirect|Georgia State|the state|Georgia (U.S. state)|other uses|Georgia (disambiguation)}}
Depending on whether people think the athletics teams deserve a mention in the hatnote or not. Thryduulf (talk) 19:25, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate or Retarget to Georgia (disambiguation); since the country is also a state, the US state is a state, and the University is also called Georgia State. -- 76.65.128.43 (talk) 06:35, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The pertinent question is not whether the state or the country is also a "state", but what is the primary meaning of the phrase, "Georgia State". Can you point to any evidence whatsoever that the country of Georgia is ever referred to as "Georgia State"? bd2412 T 18:59, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Retarget per nom. UW Dawgs (talk) 09:30, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate. I seriously doubt that the country of Georgia is ever referred to as "Georgia State", but the same is unlikely to be true for the state of Georgia. Since it's a plausible redirect for that and a plausible redirect for the university, disambiguating is the right way to go. Nyttend (talk) 02:47, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Non notable amusement ride. It can be seen in the SBNO rides section of Six Flags New Orleans Starship9000 (talk) 01:04, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - Valid and reasonable search term. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:53, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - if the ride isn't sufficiently notable for it's own article, there's no reason to redlink it. WilyD 08:40, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep If a certain ride isn't notable it's standard practice to do these types of redirects. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 12:49, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
