Egyptian civil war[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Speedily deleted, as a recently created, implausible redirect. There is clear consensus that the designation "civil war" is inappropriate. If it is appropriate to create a disambiguation page for other conflicts that really have been civil wars, then that will be fine. I suggest preparing any such disambig page as a user space draft, and asking me or another admin to move it when it is ready, since I have fully protected the existing page. Criteria 8. Only discussed in this USA Today article and supported by a "dictionary definition" cited by user User:HighIntellectual, who has moved the page and been reverted twice, leading in these two controversial redirects. 8ty3hree (talk) 23:44, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Big Fat William Taft[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. I trust there will be no objections to closing this a day early. --BDD (talk) 18:58, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect seems to be created only to disparage Taft. Google is silent on it. I know he was nicknamed "Big Bill" but I've never heard "Big Fat William Taft" before. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 18:26, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - A Google search fails to produce any usage independent of Wikipedia and the adjective 'fat' does not appear in the target so this would be misleading per WP:RFD#DELETE. This redirect was created by a now-banned sockpuppet. The Whispering Wind (talk) 23:34, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Accurate, but implausible as a search term. (First Buchanan, now Taft? Maybe we should go through some other presidential redirects and see what comes up.) — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 06:22, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
