  • Note: This was added by User:Gerrad7042006!. I merely formatted it so it would show up [1]. I've contacted him and explained that he needs to give a reason here for requesting deletion, not simply putting it in the edit summary. Voceditenore (talk) 16:26, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The content up until April 2009 currently on Derby Theatre wiki page was owned by Derby Playhouse (Ltd) and was on its own wiki page entitled Derby Playhouse. This you should be able to verify assuming you keep archive copies of your pages. The (unorthorised) redirection of Derby Playhouse page must have taken place post April 2009, when additional content was added by the theatres new owners & operators, who have been attempting to trade as Derby Playhouse reputation, which is subject of a major multi million pound civil action. I only stumbled over this entirely by chance when making minor changes to your Moon Landing (music theatre) wiki page.

Writing as a Director of Derby Playhouse I can confirm that Derby Playhouse has not given permission for its Wiki page to be re-directed to Derby Theatre, nor the content to appear on Derby Theatre page, which is a different legal entity.

Thanking you in anticipation

Can you please explain what you mean by "Derby Theatre wiki page was owned by Derby Playhouse Ltd"? Are you saying that the text was copied from a previously published source owned by Derby Playhouse Ltd—for example, a web page or press release? If you mean instead that people from Derby Playhouse Ltd wrote the Wikipedia article or simply that much of the information in the article pertains to the time when Derby Playhouse Ltd operated the theatre, then no, it doesn't own the information on the page, nor does it own the title. See Ownership of articles for more information on this. Voceditenore (talk) 17:12, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can you also please clarify what you are asking for? Are you asking for deletion of the page Derby Playhouse which currently redirects to Derby Theatre? Voceditenore (talk) 06:13, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Following a discussion with Gerrad7042006! at his talk page and clarification on what he objected to about the redirect, I suggest that the request for deletion be withdrawn and discussion about turning the redirect page into a separate article about the theatre company (with which the theatre was synonymous from 1975 until 2009) be carried forward at Talk:Derby Theatre. – Voceditenore (talk) 11:50, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
