Redirects resulting from reverted inappropriate page moves by blocked user AnnaHendren (talk · contribs)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy delete all per WP:CSD#G5. Thryduulf (talk) 12:34, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Delete (possibly G-5 Speedy Delete) these are redirects from userspace to template space, so cross-namespace-redirects (XNRs) created by reverting bad page moves by the blocked User:AnnaHendren -- 70.24.248.246 (talk) 23:49, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. If the mover was evading a block or (topic) ban when they performed the inappropriate moves (I've not looked) then these can be speedily deleted under criterion G5. If the inappropriate moves were vandalism (again I've not looked) then criterion G3 explicitly allows for their deletion. The cross-namespace nature of these redirects is though not a reason to delete them - redirects out of userspace are perfectly normal and rarely harmful. The result of the discussion was Keep and put a hatnote. Ruslik_Zero 18:37, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Too close to "Weeping Willow (rag)" in my opinion, for which there is an actual article. Hoops gza (talk) 23:44, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. This just needs a hatnote at the target - {{redirect|Weeping Willow (song)|the ragtime piano composition by Scott Joplin|Weeping Willow (rag)}}. Thryduulf (talk) 03:23, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Weeping Willow (rag). Since we have an article about a song called Weeping Willow, the redirect should point to that song. We can hatnote the Joplin article. Ego White Tray (talk) 01:53, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Retarget to Battles_of_Rzhev. Ruslik_Zero 19:07, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

deletion as the articles are referring to a) Soviet Military operation and b) Wehrmacht military operation; the two can bee referred to in the text but are not same subject. Crock81 (talk) 02:23, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note: I've left notices linking to this discussion on the target's talk page and at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Military History. Thryduulf (talk) 10:58, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment according to Battles of Rzhev, the German operation was the reverse side of the Soviet operation -- 70.24.248.246 (talk) 22:12, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment this would be the same as whether to name something for the Hamas attack or the Israeli couterattack... (though we seem to name those for the Israeli counterattack... but the Hamas attack seems to redirect to those articles) -- 70.24.248.246 (talk) 22:13, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

La gente[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Retarget to Gente (disambiguation). Ruslik_Zero 19:11, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion or creation of a disambiguation page. Actually I was reading the page of an Italian poet, Trilussa, and one of his works is named "La gente". Then I clicked on the link and I was redirected to the page "La Gente de Aztlan" that's not the Trilussa work. The only internal link to this redirect is from the page of the Italian poet, so I suggest to delete the redirect, because it's misleading, or to create a disambiguation page Diuturno (talk) 10:39, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • create the article or delete per WP:RED if that hasn't been done by the time this discussion is closed. An article about the Italian poem should have a hatnote to the current target but a separate dab page isn't needed. Thryduulf (talk) 10:53, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • If the article is not created by the time this nomination ends, it should be retargeted to Gente (disambiguation) per 70.24.248.246 below. If the article is created, it should include a hatnote to the disambiguation page. Thryduulf (talk) 12:43, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate repoint to Gente (disambiguation) -- 70.24.248.246 (talk) 22:14, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
