Willeborg von Wertheim[edit]

- Willeborg von Wertheim → Wertheim (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
I'd like to see the redirect deleted. It doesn't appear to me to make sense for this non-notable 13th century person to redirect to his last name. The only reason I can see for keeping the redirect is that it is fairly old. I'm new at this, so let me know if I'm taking the wrong approach. Thank you. SchreiberBike (talk) 23:20, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Not even mentioned at the target, and redirect to the last name provides no information. Better off with a redlink. Monty845 01:11, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- If someone from the 13th century is still known today, pretty much by definition they are notable. That does not defend this redirect, though. Redlink it. Rossami (talk) 03:14, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Rossami, that is totally wrong. I've traced my family history and have identified a whole lot of non-notable people in medieval times. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 12:13, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It has been one of the core principles of WP:BIO for years that figures still known from history carry a strong presumption of notability. I can't help thinking that you may be selling your relatives short. I would be fascinated to take up that discussion, though. I'd love to hear counter-examples. It's not directly relevant to this debate, though, so maybe we should take it offline. Rossami (talk) 14:12, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Aura-Soma[edit]
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- Aura-Soma → Chromotherapy (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
This page was tagged for speedy-deletion by Filelakeshoe with the comment "no mention of this in Chromotherapy article text and attracts bogus interwikis from bots". The page was previously an article deleted after this 2008 AfD. It was recreated as the redirect in 2010. It is ineligible for speedy-deletion because of its age. This is a courtesy nomination. Rossami (talk) 22:34, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry if my deletion was out of process, but having this here really is useless and misleading since writing about Aura-Soma on Wikipedia has been disallowed and there is no mention of it on the Chromotherapy article. I think I sorted the bot issue finally, but still, delete. - filelakeshoe 17:13, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Wikipedia:ESSAY → Category:Wikipedia essays (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
Change target to Wikipedia:Essay#Essays. Currently WP:Essay WP:ESSAYS and WP:Essays all go to one location about essay use, while WP:ESSAY goes to the category. It is confusing to have case sensitive redirects go to different destinations. WP:ESSAY should be brought in line with the others. I am bringing it here for discussion, rather then just making the change, as it is a long standing redirect that has a significant number of incoming links. (Though I think many are trying to reach WP:Essay not the category) Monty845 19:44, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Retarget- Cross-namespace redirect without basis in other redirect examples. A412 (Talk • C) 23:04, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Retarget and be done with it. It was originally changed in '07 for poorly-explained (IMHO) reasons which are entirely beyond my comprehension, so we should probably change it back. --NYKevin @188, i.e. 03:30, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Retarget to Wikipedia:Essay#Essays. Since the re-target explicitly links to the category, I have no objection. Thanks for the heads up, NYKevin; I'm sure my change made sense at the time, but I do not seem to have wasted brain cells on the matter so as to recall it now. Possibly, it was just handy to have a shortcut to get directly to all the essays (there were only maybe 100 or less back then, IIRC), especially for users who don't know the colon trick, i.e. [[:Category:Wikipedia essays]]. By 2008, due to wikimania, there were 600 and I worried that the category had become (or would soon become) unmanageable. Now I find it bittersweet that, in my estimation, the number of essays has only roughly doubled since then; I'd almost prefer to live in a world where wikimania continued and we'd have 20,000 essays by now instead! -- Kendrick7talk 10:32, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not used. Trying to reduce the number of Image requested syntaxes. Traveler100 (talk) 16:30, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep WP:CHEAP, and a reasonable term to use, since WPPbanners uses "needs-infobox" etc style syntax, so this should exist. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:51, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. I agree with 70.49.124.225. No harm in keeping this as a redirect. Jafeluv (talk) 10:23, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
