The result of the discussion was retarget to José Mourinho#Controversy. Thryduulf (talk) 21:51, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gratuitously insulting nickname based on Spanish language slang for penis, only used by those who know the man's full name perfectly well. Not necessary as a redirect, not by any means appropriate in an encyclopaedia. Kevin McE (talk) 22:20, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Bridgeplayer makes a good point, indeed it's OK in Mourinho's article, as info which is sourced. But to have "Pito Vilanova" as a redirect for "Francesc Vilanova" is, as Kevin puts it, totally unencyclopedical methinks. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:33, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to José Mourinho#Controversy - Given the controversy, the nickname is a possible (even likely) search term. That section of the article explains it and provides a link to the article on Tito for anybody that really wants information on him. —mako 19:49, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to José Mourinho#Controversy - redirects are essentially neutral search terms (see WP:RNEUTRAL) but we do need some sourced content at the target to explain to the readers why they have been taken there. This seems a good solution. Bridgeplayer (talk) 20:32, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete The extent of the controversy does not warrant this over BLP considerations. DGG ( talk ) 17:26, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, it's like saying "PENIS VILANOVA" is equal to "FRANCESC 'TITO' VILANOVA", what on earth is this? Mourinho would approve of the move, but he does not have a saying in WP guidelines, i hope, or does he :) --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:48, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to José Mourinho#Controversy, per Bridgeplayer. Because of the potential controveral name, it makes sense to redirect it to a section which explains the controversy. Ajraddatz (Talk) 18:20, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
