Hatchet job[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was soft redirect to wiktionary:hatchet job. Jafeluv (talk) 14:01, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The only relation here is the word "hatchet." Anyone looking for "hatchet job" will be wholly uninterested in our general article about the tool. 68.35.40.154 (talk) 05:24, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Soft-redirect to Wiktionary, which has an entry on this idiomatic term that people are likely to look up. Thryduulf (talk) 12:23, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I was sure I had checked for one. A soft redirect is obviously preferable to deletion. 68.35.40.154 (talk) 18:38, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft-redirect to Wiktionary is appropriate.--RadioFan (talk) 15:23, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cunnilingus in Islamic law[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep. Jafeluv (talk) 13:59, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete; 'Cunnilingus in Islamic law' shows up in search suggestion. One can search for 'Islamic views on oral sex' directly instead and skip the redirect Carl Francis (talk) 13:52, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't see the problem. All redirects show up in search suggestions, and all redirects can be avoided by searching directly for the target. Is there a specific problem with this particular redirect? —Кузьма討論 14:02, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep this seems like a very useful redirect. It got nearly 6000 hits last month and has 5500 this month as of yesterday. These are probably at least partly driven by it's inclusion on the Cunnilingus article, as it saw a massive traffic increase since being added in this edit on 14 March. Even if the redirect was bypassed, the traffic likely would still be greater than the 300-400 views per month (high for a redirect) it was getting at the start of the year (due to mirrors, search engines and peoples' memories).
