.ta[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Deleted as not mentioned at suggested re-target location which is confusing to users. -- JLaTondre (talk) 20:55, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete There is no .ta top-level domain, and the Tamil language article gives no indication that such a domain has ever been proposed. "ta" has many possible meanings. I submit that ".ta" is currently meaningless. Cybercobra (talk) 03:26, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to ta. While there doesn't seem to have ever been a .ta domain, nor is there an apparent proposal for one, the page is getting 30-40 hits a month so we shouldn't break links without good reason. There are separate disambiguation pages at Ta and TA, the former is the one that links to the tamil language (ta is the iso-639 code) so that is the least disruptive of the two. Retaining the status quo would be less disreuptive, but there is no evidence I can find to link ".ta" to any entry on either disambiguation page more strongly other than the comment in the edit summary given for this redirect's creation "(okey mostly created to make identifying the relivant wiki less effort)". • Delete. Retargeting to Ta would have been a good idea, except that there is no information about dot-ta there. If someone has gone to the trouble of typing in the period, better for him just to get the search results screen than to wind up at at DAB that he will have to scan over carefully before he realizes .ta isn't there.  Glenfarclas  (talk) 05:29, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
