Water tribe[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was disambiguate. Rossami (talk) 22:19, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect created by a blocked user, ambiguous and could refer to other water tribes outside the universe (cf. Naruto, etc). :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:28, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • None of the other pages in the disamb page mention 'water tribe' so this is an invalid disamb page. Bridgeplayer (talk) 23:02, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've necer understood why they have to mention "water tribe" in the title. They are all things that people are likely to be looking for when looking for "water tribe" (based on google results for the exact phrase). Thryduulf (talk) 08:45, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Water Tribes added to the nomination. Bridgeplayer (talk) 18:42, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Water tribe and align Water Tribes. I have no objection to a disambiguation page being created if there are other pages that can be sensibly disambiguated but the term 'water tribe' should appear in the disambiguated articles otherwise it is simply spreading confusion. Bridgeplayer (talk) 19:00, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unnamed Fire Avatar[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedily deleted per G5 "Creations by blocked or banned users". Thryduulf (talk) 11:01, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Too ambiguous WP:R#D2 and created by a blocked user. Could be any Fire Avatar in the series. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:18, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The above is preserved as the archive of an RfD nomination. Please do not modify it.

ISaved Your Life[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Kept and target refined. -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:57, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Too ambiguous WP:R#D2 and created by a blocked user. Could refer to the actual saving of a life or a bigfoot. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:18, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I think. Given the spacing, I'd suggest that these would be quite an improbable search terms, but I'm not going to speedy delete these as I'm not 100% sure. Thryduulf (talk) 11:04, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Retarget per Rossimi's recommendation below. Thryduulf (talk) 17:20, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • The spacing is deliberate - the episode names are plays on the show's name format. (They should lead with lowercase 'i' but that's technically difficult in MediaWiki.) As the actual episode names, they could be searched for either by direct typing, linking or cut-and-paste. Redirects from an episode to a more notable parent topic (the show or the season) are established uses of redirects and preempt the creation of inappropriately detailed content. If titles are ambiguous, that is generally solved via linking or disambiguation, not deletion. The episode synopsis for iBelieve..., for example, already includes a link to the Bigfoot page. It would be clearer if that redirect pointed to the actual episode guide rather than a bare listing, though. I'll update that now. {{Anchors}} to individual episodes on the page would make it even clearer.
The first redirect (ISaved Your Life) was turned into a redirect via pagemove. The pagemove was executed by a now-banned user but the moved history shows that it had been turned into a direct redirect multiple times by a variety of legitimate users. I don't think the banned user clause applies well in this case. The second (IBelieve in Bigfoot) was directly created in violation of a block and is more difficult to call. Rossami (talk) 12:01, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Episode anchors added and the redirects retargetted pending completion of this discussion. Rossami (talk)

Mrds[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep but not "as-is". Converting to a redirect to MRDS which is a newly created disambiguation page mentioning all the uses listed below. The new target and decision to disambiguate should be considered as ordinary-editor decisions. Rossami (talk) 22:25, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Too ambiguous WP:R#D2 and created by a blocked user. Unlikely and ambiguous acronym. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:18, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio with a hatnote noting it can also mean "Member of the Royal Dublin Society and Monster Rancher DS". The developer studio appears to be by far the primary use and so should get the redirect, the other two are used but less so. All the other uses I can find are MRDs, i.e. plural uses of the initialism MRD. I would not object to a disambiguation page though. Thryduulf (talk) 11:09, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment, I've created a redirect from MRDS to the developer studio article and added the hatnote based on this. I still favour retaining the Mrds title as a redirect to the same place. Thryduulf (talk) 01:12, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Progymnospermopsida (disambiguation)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Delete. There is nothing in the page history that can be merged. Ruslik_Zero 09:49, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is already a redirect titled Progymnospermopsida. This is an inappropriate use of a disambiguation page. Peter coxhead (talk) 11:01, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep because it helps to document the page history which in this case includes both pagemoves and content mergers. The fact that another redirect exists does not mean that this one can't also exist. Optional to tag with {{unprintworthy}} or a related tag if you're worried about the searchbox prefill. Rossami (talk) 11:49, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Target is not a disambiguation page. If some history needs to be merged with the article, that should be done before the redirect is deleted, but the redirect needs to be deleted. -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:27, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
