This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on March 10, 2011

Jason itzler Sylk, et al[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Re-target. Itzler re-targeted to an existing article on someone named Itzler as an existing article should have precedence (if someone wants to add a hatnote to that article fill free). The others plus Jason Itzler re-targeted to Ashley Alexandra Dupré as he is mentioned there and it's sourced. -- JLaTondre (talk) 13:42, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of Itzler in the target page. Pichpich (talk) 02:04, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep but not as-is. He is prominently mentioned on the Ashley Alexandra Dupré as the founder of the escort service associated with the Spitzer scandal. The history behind the redirects appears to be a copy-paste created at six different titles (the 4 above, NY (New York) Confidential and Jason Sylk - the last should probably be added to the nomination). If the allegations in either the Dupré page or the overwritten content are sourcable, the subject may in fact meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. If not, a redirect may still be appropriate, though perhaps to the Dupré article instead. Rossami (talk) 06:42, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Update: It appears that sources have been added in the Dupré article which substantiate the connection. That makes it now a stronger argument to retarget there. Rossami (talk)

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

Do A Barrel Roll[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was No Consensus. I see arguments to retarget it to either of two different targets, and a stray Keep As Is or Delete. Ultimately I see no consensus at all for a full deletion, and no solid consensus for any specific target. But retargeting is really an editing issue, not an RFD issue. So no prejudice against a retarget to one target or another, but I suggest a discussion at the talk page first. - TexasAndroid (talk) 15:14, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My buddy posted a Classic Starfox 64 montage on facebook today. I thought being a meme it may be have its own Wiki-article but was unsurpised when it was a redirect. What did not expect was for it to redirect to Barrel Roll#Aviation. even more shocking to me look at the history of the redirect and discovered this RFD in which there was pretty strong consensus to keep and have it redirected to Starfox 64. However one user suggested it be targeted to some place with "Encyclopedic content" like Barrel role. It seem the predominate use of the term in Reference to Starfox 64 where is repeated excessively on nearly every level. It seem the most logical to have redirect where the meme originated from if not an article itself. The Resident Anthropologist (Talk / contribs) 02:03, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment except that that phrase was used in aviation, before it was connected to StarFox. 184.144.160.156 (talk) 06:51, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep or retarget to Barrel roll (disambiguation). Googling for "do a barrel roll" -Wikipedia brings up results for many different things, Starfox 64 is among those things but it's nowhere near prominent enough to be considered the primary usage. Also, I don't see how you can read a consensus for "keep" from the previous RfC - that looks like a firm consensus for the retargetting that happened to me. I was going to suggest adding the meme to the dab page, but the Starfox 64 article doesn't even discus the significance of the term to the game (other than in passing in a single sentence), let alone make any claims for it to be a meme. This means that the video game article doesn't merit a dab-page entry and would make a very poor target for a redirect. Thryduulf (talk) 10:57, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to Starfox64. Someone with no idea where the meme comes from, typing it in, would be better served being redirected to the game. I seriously doubt anybody else will be typing in "Do a barrel roll".AerobicFox (talk) 07:23, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Edit, if nothing else I have added "Do a barrel roll" to the disambiguation page, so a redirect there could be feasible.AerobicFox (talk) 07:26, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Barrel roll (disambiguation) although directly retargetting it to the game would be fine with me as well.--Lenticel (talk) 06:25, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete -- with the pages deleted, the search results will serve the reader better than any of the other options. If kept, Redirect to Starfox 64. Do not redirect to Barrel roll (disambiguation) -- there is no ambiguity in this title, that the phrase was unencyclopedically used prior to that doesn't create topic ambiguity. -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:30, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
