The result of the discussion was keep. Thryduulf (talk) 00:29, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name is apparently offensive to Rastas and Wikipedia:REDIRECT#Reasons_for_deleting states in part:

"The redirect is offensive or abusive, such as redirecting "Joe Bloggs is a Loser" to "Joe Bloggs" (unless "Joe Bloggs is a Loser" is discussed in the article), or "Joe Bloggs" to "Loser". (Speedy deletion criterion G10 may apply.)"

Alternately, redirect to Rastafarian vocabulary and explain the controversy there. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 21:39, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: The article states "The movement is sometimes referred to as "Rastafarianism", while noting the term's disfavour. The fact that it is "sometimes" used (I've personally never heard anything else) easily justifies keeping this redirect. Absconded Northerner (talk) 22:07, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Common name used by reliable sources. Roscelese (talkcontribs) 01:22, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep it is used to refer to the movement. WP:NOTCENSORED. 65.94.47.63 (talk) 05:02, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Offensive and abusive means a redirect that has no other purpose than to insult the subject. Terms that are commonly used by the general public (Rastafarian or Gypsy, for example) don't qualify for this criteria (thus, "W", could theoretically redirect to George W Bush).
