Havoc (Star Wars)[edit]

The result of the discussion was Delete --Taelus (talk) 07:36, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No information about "Havoc" in the redirected article, the word isn't even mentioned there. As this is misleading, suggest deletion. The Evil IP address (talk) 19:54, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate, Havoc in the context of Star Wars can refer to many things. Unfortunately Wookieepedia is the only on-line source I can find to support that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tideflat (talkcontribs) 18:07, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - whatever else, 'disambiguate' cannot be right since we don't have multiple articles with the same title. This is a former article, here, but it appears to have had no merit. Redirecting to a page where this ship is not mentioned is simply confusing. Time to put it to rest, I think. Bridgeplayer (talk) 21:44, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Xuancheng dialect[edit]

The result of the discussion was Keep, reverting to redirect from disambiguation page. --Taelus (talk) 07:33, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Only mentioned in a list in Xuanzhou Wu dialects, few introduction ––虞海 (Yú Hǎi) 13:49, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Why would we delete this redirect when it points to the (albeit limited) information we have on the topic? Thryduulf (talk) 15:10, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Nominator converted it to a disambiguation page minutes after this nomination. ~ Ningauble (talk) 01:49, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep; undoing disambiguation page. This is not a valid disambiguation page and since the term is not used in the second article it is plainly confusing. Bridgeplayer (talk) 18:37, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Most successful book of all time[edit]

The result of the discussion was Retarget to List of best-selling books --Taelus (talk) 07:29, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Should be deleted unless it can be used for a different purpose. Unclear why any particular book should be singled out like this. Page history reveals disagreements about which book the redirect should point to. The redirect serves no purpose; how do you measure success objectively. Anyone who write "most successful" in the search field will get this as one of the suggested pages, and if they enter the page they will end up at the Quran (previously the Bible , which is equally POV) with no explanation of why they ended up there. A different solution would be to change the target to List of best-selling books, however I think the "of all time" part of the redirect title is unneccessary, even if it were to be kept with a new purpose.85.167.37.43 (talk) 11:40, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to List of best-selling books and protect if necessary. This is a useful search term, as demonstrated by the significant page views, and the list of best-selling books is the best target we have. Thryduulf (talk) 15:16, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I might even go with delete, as success can mean so many different things: Commercial success, influence on society, importance for the literature and certainly a lot more. It definitely mustn't stay as it is, so Thryduulf's suggestion isn't that bad, but I believe that success might not only be commercial success. --The Evil IP address (talk) 20:02, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hmm, I see your point. We could I suppose create a disambiguation page, or even article(?), linking to articles in Category:Top book lists. I'm not sure this would be the best title for that page, but would make a good redirect there. Thryduulf (talk) 23:27, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to List of best-selling books. I appreciate that 'success' is a subjective term but the purpose of a redirect is to get the reader to a relevant page and there is a decent chance that the revised target contains the information being sought.
