Seldom used (1 per day), meme bait. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 19:00, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. On average it's actually about 2 per day, or between 50 and 70 hits in an average month, which has remained consistent since the last RfD in April (which ended as no consensus). There is no actual evidence of this being "meme bait" (not that that is a reason to delete a redirect, let alone one that is clearly in use). The phrase is included in the article and in the associated reference to a reliable source. I'd say that shows sufficient context and notability. Thryduulf (talk) 19:27, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The fifth freedom: free movement of knowledge[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Delete with no prejudice to recreation should a valid target come into existance, or relevant information be re-added to another article. --Taelus (talk) 13:19, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No information "free movement of knowledge" is available on Wikipedia. Fleet Command (talk) 23:36, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was removed[1] with the comment "there is no treaty basis for this so-called fifth freedom". The article isn't just about a treaty (there is a separate one for that), so it can probably be added back in. Peter E. James (talk) 07:04, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see. So, what do you advise? Is there any material to to which we can retarget this redirect? Or should we delete the redirect? Or... any other course of action? Fleet Command (talk) 10:29, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Taelus (talk) 11:53, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As an experiment, I typed into the WP search box "the first freedom", "the second freedom", "the third freedom", "the fourth freedom", and "the sixth freedom". Of these, the first four produced nothing particularly specific (i.e. basically listed articles with each of the words in them, mostly about wars). THe last, "the sixth freedom", had a good candidate at Freedoms of the air, which indeed enumerates nine freedoms. So if anything, I would suggest retarget to that article, although in practice, since apparently nobody gives a damn about the seventh or fourth freedom etc, the redirect is probably a waste of space and should be deleted as such (or we should enumerate every other freedom in the same manner, which seems ridiculous). To clarify, when I said it was a waste of space, I did not mean oh dear it takes up so many bytes on the Wikipedia server. I meant, is it helpful to someone searching for something? I think not, and for that reason it should be deleted. Si Trew (talk) 08:19, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
