Ambiguous redirect, at the least it should be deleted (R#D2 and R#D8). Could refer to any sort of depletion, not just of resources. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 08:32, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep because this page was the subject of a difficult AfD dicussion and has been deleted multiple times already. Since deletion, the redirect is highly effective at preempting the recreation of a page that the community has already decided it does not want. (Permanent page protection was considered in the second AfD but ultimately rejected. I concur that salting would be overkill in this case.) No objection to overwriting it with disambiguation content, however, if you can find reasonable alternate targets. Wikipedia:Deletionist (now at Meta) comes to mind as a potential alternate. Delete. As far as I can see, an at the moment unnecessary redirect from other capitalisations, and it causes problems. For instance, Facebook has instead of automatically creating a Community Page of the redirected article, created an empty Community Page of the redirecting page. My theory is that the mistake was probably caused by Facebook not being case sensitive when they extracted the articles from Wikipedia and would therefore discard the correct article as a duplicate.   • Keep Valid redirect from alternate capitalisations per Wikipedia:Redirect#Purposes_of_redirects: "Likely alternative capitalizations". Wikipedia is case-sensitive, and if a user accidentally mistypes his name, the redirect helps to automatically correct that. If Facebook decides to mirror us and they have issues with redirects, that's their problem, not ours.   • Obvious keep. Redirects from alternate capitalizations are one of the most firmly established uses for redirects. The impact on Facebook is, to be blunt, their problem, not ours. They can solve it by adding a filter excluding redirects or a thousand other technical solutions, none of which require us to break our own processes or tools.
