Basically, the article New Paltz (town), New York was moved to New Paltz, New York, with the old New Paltz, New York page becoming New Paltz, New York (disambiguation). However, Talk:New Paltz, New York became a redirect to the disambig's talk page, and the proper talk page -- Talk:New Paltz (town), New York -- was never moved.

The article was AFD'd at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Electronic hardcore. The result of the discussion was that the article was largely original research and to delete, not redirect. The same information (with the same sources) that was deemed original research and deleted as such is also at Post-hardcore#Electronic. The section at Post-hardcore should be removed just as the article was, and the redirect should not exist either. Fezmar9 (talk) 22:05, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - This redirect is absolutely harmless. In fact, its absolutely appropriate - There was no proof of the existance of "electonic hardcore" as its own genre, or its own movement, and hence an article titled "electronic hardcore" would be original research. Listing genres that it originated from (with no references) was original research. Hence the page was deleted. Now the page serves as a redirect, however, and the article that it redirects to DOES NOT claim that this is a genre of music, does not make unreferenced statements, and does not contain original research. It merely informs us that many musicans blend two styles of music. It contains referenced statements regarding this blend's characteristics. Post-hardcore#Electronic is a paragraph within a section entitled "Various trends." Is this not a trend of post-hardcore? It is, in fact. But thats all that it is. A redirect to a section that discusses this trend is not inappropriate at all. Its completely logical.--♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 23:09, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment - The section at Post-hardcore is still original research as only a few of those sources are reliable. The description of the "trend" does not stem from articles about it, but rather individual reviews about different albums from different bands. A GoogleNews search turns up 13 hits since 1997, none of them seem to refer to any of the bands mentioned in this section. It's clearly not a phrase that's common enough to warrant even a redirect, provided there was even a plausible article to redirect to. According to the article that you wrote, "electronic hardcore" could be a mix between electronic music and either metalcore, post-hardcore or hardcore punk. In fact, it seems like more of these sources claim these bands are metalcore than the other two genres. At any rate, will each of these three genre articles require a section on "electronic hardcore" with its own redirect? Fezmar9 (talk) 02:39, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - heavily used name and useful information at the target. This is not the place to debate whether the content should be in the target; Talk:Post-hardcore is the venue for that. Confusing and implausible redirect. I moved Amberley Wild Brooks (Ireland) to Amberley Wild Brooks (song), and the move left behind this confusing redirect. While the song was composed by John Ireland, putting "(Ireland)" at the end of the title implies that this article refers to a place in Ireland, not to a song by the composer Ireland.
