Nominating for deletion: rather bitey, I would not want to be told to "shut up" if I wasn't bold enough, and I doubt anyone else would either.  —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 19:47, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Kept. TelecomPioneers was a previous name of the organization per the article. It is also their current domain name. This is a likely search phrase. -- JLaTondre (talk) 23:31, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It seems unlikely that anyone searching for "TelecomPioneers" would be looking for that specific organization -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:21, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. This page was created by an editor and immediately redirected, essentially an attempt to "squat" a Wikipedia article name akin to squatting a website url. Cindamuse (talk) 18:33, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete—confusing redirect. Grondemar 23:31, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - recently created and unlikely search term. Bridgeplayer (talk) 00:18, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - do your homework. The former name of Pioneers was TelecomPioneers. I suggest Zebedee try using Google before making assumptions. Jdtrout (talk) 02:55, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The former name appears to be "Telephone Pioneers of America". "Telecom pioneers/TelecomPioneers" is a general English-language phrase that is not owned by that organization, which is pretty much unknown outside of the USA - and I would expect only a minority of people using it as a search term would be looking for the organization itself. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:56, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to History of telecommunication rather than delete. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:01, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - reasonable misspelling of the former name of the Pioneers, which was TelecomPioneers Jdtrout (talk) 02:52, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The former name appears to be "Telephone Pioneers of America". And isn't "Telecompioneers" also a reasonable misspelling of someone just looking for pioneers of the telecoms industry in general? It is quite a wide world, and the specific organization is pretty much unknown outside of the USA. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:54, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Dabomb87 (talk) 14:32, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's unlikely that anyone searching for "Telephone Pioneers of America" would be looking for that specific organization - more likely Bell and the early telecoms companies themselves -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:18, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: As stated in the article's lede: "Pioneers, a Volunteer Network is a non-profit charitable organization based in Denver, Colorado, U.S. It was founded in 1911 in Boston as the Telephone Pioneers of America"'.
The Telephone Pioneers, a.k.a. the Telecom Pioneers, are well known in telecommunications history and are actually quite an important organization. They are far better known under those older names. There's absolutely no reason to restrict usage of the valid redirect pages. I have no relationship with the organization b.t.w., having read of them during my work on telecommunication articles. Best: HarryZilber (talk) 19:41, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep this redirect as it is a former name of the organization. Grondemar 23:33, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - former name of the target so a valid redirect. Bridgeplayer (talk) 00:13, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - original name of the Pioneers, as stated previously Jdtrout (talk) 02:53, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Withdraw/Keep. Ah yes, sorry, I missed that part - a redirect from its old name sounds fine. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:52, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. Jafeluv (talk) 10:42, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible redirect, though not recently created. - 2/0 (cont.) 05:48, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - This was a short-cut that stood for "List of pseudosciences and pseudoscientific concepts". We don't now use short-cuts for articles so it is now redundant and, with its meaning receding into the mists of time, it is confusing. This has not been substantively picked up by the mirrors so deletion will cause no problem. Bridgeplayer (talk) 13:03, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete—confusing redirect. We shouldn't be using Wikipedia space style shortcuts in article space. Grondemar 23:35, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
