propose deletion of redirect: currently redirects searches for a person to an article about that person's workplace (which contains no information about that person). I believe a redlink would be more appropriate than a redirect, in the absence of an Anna Kantor article. Tremolo (talk) 14:30, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of most luminous stars in the local area[edit]

  • Reply "List of most luminous stars" is not a local area list, most of them are not local. "List of brightest stars" is not about luminosity, it is about visual apparent brightness from Earth, as is "List of nearest bright stars".   • I know all that, which is why I just commented, rather than actually supporting a retarget to any of those. List of most luminous stars does include many relatively nearby stars, so it would give people some of the information they're looking for (anyway, define "local area" for me...) And you're wrong in that List of nearest bright stars actually uses absolute rather than apparent magnitude as its primary criterion. Sideways713 (talk) 10:40, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Create list or delete From the above discussion, it would appear that there are no suitable targets for this redirect. I'd say the local group is a good approximation for "local area". If a list is created out of this, then it should have a more specific title about the amount of "local"ness desired, in which case this redirect can be retargeted to that list. --NYKevin @319, i.e. 06:39, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Like IP, I'm not sure the Local Group is a good pick for "local area", but if we did use that, there wouldn't be any need to create a new list; List of most luminous stars doesn't contain any entries from outside the Local Group as far as I can see.   • The Local Bubble is also a "local area", but instead of being 10million lightyears across, it is only 300 lightyears, 4 orders of magnitude smaller... while an order of magnitude larger is the Local Supercluster at 110million lightyears across. 76.66.203.138 (talk) 13:30, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
