Unnecessary "Euro" before template's name! Magioladitis (talk) 15:33, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, this is the old title of the template and was used on 1000s of pages. If it is deleted, when anyone goes and looks at the history of a page there will be a dead link where this template appeared. --Philip Stevens (talk) 15:50, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
By checking the history I see that "Euro ..." that was deleted and redirected to the original template instead of just deleted, probably because of a few uses it has back in 2006. -- Magioladitis (talk) 07:04, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's correct, but it was more than a few uses. Every serving UK MP was linked to it. --Philip Stevens (talk) 12:44, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And why to keep the redirect then? The edit history of the template is already deleted. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:53, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so consensus may be reached.

  • Keep—this template redirect is harmless and will help historic revisions of pages appear correctly. Grondemar
  • Keep - Harmless really. Deleting it'll do—slightly—more harm than good, per Philip Stevens, Spongefrog, (I am Czar of all Russias!) 10:11, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Geddyl alcohol[edit]

The result of the discussion was Retarget to Fatty alcohol per Bridgeplayer. Straightforward. ~ Amory (utc) 03:41, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two different chemicals, with different molecular formulae. One is an alcohol and the other is a carboxylic acid. While they are closely related, this is not sufficient grounds for a redirect from one to this other, which only causes confusion. Stubify or delete, I don't care which. Ephemeronium (talk) 13:27, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Fatty alcohol where it is described. In truth, such straightforward retargetting could simply be carried out as an editorial action. Only if such a retargetting is resisted do we need a discussion, here. Bridgeplayer (talk) 20:33, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
