May 27[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on May 27, 2010

Top kill[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was nomination no longer relevant - the redirect has now been converted into an article. NAC. Bridgeplayer (talk) 01:15, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect should be deleted and replaced by an article describing the top kill procedure. According to this BBC article, the top kill is a procedure which "has been carried out many times around the world" so it is in no way specific to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The generic procedure should not be a redirect to a specific use of that procedure. Dricherby (talk) 00:15, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Write the article then. There is no need to delete the page or indeed waste time discussing the redirect if you think an article can and should be made of it. Incidentally, I agree that there should be an article I just disagree with the mentality whereby we put something up for deletion instead of improving it. Woody (talk) 00:18, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note: I have now created a stub article and so this article no longer falls under the scope of RfD so this should be closed. I would do it myself but don't want any suggestion of COI. Regards, Woody (talk) 00:27, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • PS. The RfD instructions, second paragraph, Note: If all you want to do is replace a currently existing, unprotected redirect with an actual article, you do not need to list it here. Turning redirects into fleshed-out encyclopedic articles is wholly encouraged at Wikipedia. Be bold.
Thanks for writing a stub for that, Woody. I didn't feel I knew enough about the subject to write an article myself but I should have just written a stub. Apologies also for not spotting the note from the RfD instructions that you've highlighted. Dricherby (talk) 00:47, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair enough, we only learn from doing. Woody (talk) 00:49, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Megapixel Electronic Gallery[edit]

The result of the discussion was Deleted. -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:23, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Completely irrelevant redirection! What does Megapixel Electronic Gallery possibly has to do with Moving Picture Experts Group? Please delete it! Fleet Command (talk) 13:03, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - not a known term. This was created by a now indef blocked user and I think that we can assume that this was a piece of mischief. Bridgeplayer (talk) 15:35, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
