Joseph Ignatius Breen[edit]

  • Joseph Ignatius Breen (censor) → Joseph I. Breen (links to redirect • history • stats)
  • Delete both - two three year-old redirects. Both currently point to Joseph I. Breen which following my page move is now a redirect to the main article Joseph Breen. Both old redirects are highly implausible search terms. Sources do not generally refer to Breen using either his middle initial or his full middle name. Even in the very unlikely event that someone searches for "Joseph Ignatius Breen" the prompted search will give them the main redirect "Joseph I. Breen" well before "Joseph Ignatius". Even if the first is deemed useful, the second with the "(censor)" disambiguation is not since both it and the first will come up together in a search. Are You The Cow Of Pain?   • Delete as interwiki redirect. FWIW this redirects to a page, that Google translates as "Scientific current high school", which appears to be a school in the Aichi Prefecture, Japan. We don't have an English page on this school. Bridgeplayer (talk) 15:21, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - as explained above it has now been added to the target. Having done a Gsearch, it appears to be a valid aviation term though there is considerable debate about what part of the approach constitutes a 'short final'. Bridgeplayer (talk) 15:07, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - It is a valid aviation term and in common use, but is nothing more than a dictionary definition by itself - not enough for an actual article. Furthermore it is not well defined. I have been though several aviation dictionaries, textbooks and glossaries, as well as an extensive on-line search and have not found it defined anywhere. - Ahunt (talk) 20:49, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep a variant type of final approach, so should point to the final approach article; it is a valid search term regardless of actually using the phrase "short final" on the article, since it is an adjective "short" used on "final" (diminutive of "final approach") and therefore appropriate redirect. 70.29.210.155 (talk) 05:28, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
