June 8[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on June 8, 2010

Sabacc[edit]

Article was zapped at AfD, and redirect target doesn't -- and shouldn't -- mention this trivial subject. --EEMIV (talk) 10:44, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy delete - This page was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sabacc (2nd nomination). I don't have access to the deleted version but the basis for deletion was the lack of secondary sources and since there are still no secondary sources the new version does not meet "any changes do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted". Consequently I have tagged it as a G4. The page was redirected and then brought here; that is not the way to do it; we should address the underlying page. If it is a recreation then it will now be deleted; in the highly unlikely eventuality that it is enough of an improvement not to get speedied then a further AFD is in order. Speedy deleted - Non-admin close. --EEMIV (talk) 17:14, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editions La Decouverte & Editions La Découverte[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion/Re-targetting - I can't find any evidence supporting the fact that the former publisher is part of the latter. Indeed, there's a contradictory statement in François Maspero - "In 1983, Maspero publishing house was transformed into the Éditions La Découverte, later bought by Vivendi Universal Publishing." TB (talk) 16:09, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom - assuming the nominator is correct, this is potentially misleading. Robofish (talk) 21:15, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The nominator (me) knows next to nothing about French publishing houses and accordingly listed it for discussion rather than just fixing it himself. - TB (talk) 06:30, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so consensus may be reached.

Captain Loyal Hawk[edit]

The result of the discussion was Retarget to Clan McDuck#Malcolm McDuck. Apparently it would be missed and the latest suggestion seems to be the most fitting target. Tikiwont (talk) 18:32, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Captain Loyal Hawk is one of hundreds of characters in the Duck universe who appeared only once. Concensus has been to not include one-time Duck universe characters on the list. Because Captain Loyal Hawk is not even mentioned on the character list, this redirect should be deleted. Neelix (talk) 14:42, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. There is a history to retain from before this was made a redirect. --Bduke (Discussion) 16:28, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as nominator - There is no purpose in retaining the history of an article about a non-notable subject. If we were to do so, we would never delete any article. Neelix (talk) 18:29, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Duck family (Disney) which has relevant information. This redirect gets some hits each month so readers are obviously seeking information so it is a good idea to target it on a page with something to offer. Redirects not only do not have to be on notable subjects very many are on nn subjects and tend to be a good way of stopping pages on nn being recreated. • Retarget to Clan McDuck#Malcolm McDuck, which contains more information relevant to the character than Duck family (Disney), and remove the incoming link from that article. The non-redirect history of the page is, in my opinion, not worth worrying about in this case; however, Bridgeplayer is correct to point out that the redirect receives more than just a handful of hits each month (perhaps this number will drop significantly after the incoming link is removed). -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:08, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I Never Told You[edit]

The result of the discussion was Move performed as uncontroversial, nothing to disambiguate. Was previously deleted in March 2010 however, but any concerns about that should go to articles for deletion. --Taelus (Talk) 09:27, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want to see I Never Told You (song) with a (song) on it. So please delete the redirect article so that I can move it to I Never Told You. Thank You.

The result of the discussion was keep. -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:01, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. An unnecessary redirect. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 01:46, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - doesn't meet any of the deletion criteria. We need to be careful about deleting such long-term redirects (the title is over five years old) since they are externally linked and, as a by the way, the nominator hasn't fixed the bunch of internal links. I note that the nominator's request for R3 deletion was declined as the redirect was considered to be plausible. Harmless. Bridgeplayer (talk) 02:01, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I've modified the 11 articles that linked to the redir, thus now only wikipedia and user pages still link to the redir. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyfal (talkcontribs) 15:42, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - No compelling reason to delete - may actually do some good. Gjs238 (talk) 16:09, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, no reason to delete this redirect. Grondemar 00:08, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Speedy Close, no longer within scope for Redirects for Discussion. Page has been converted to a disambig per the nominators request, an RfD discussion is not needed thanks to WP:BOLD. --Taelus (Talk) 09:21, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

create a disambig page that includes an entry for Half Moon Bay. RussianReversal (talk) 03:39, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy close as moot - no decision for us here; the nominator should be BOLD, and just convert it! Bridgeplayer (talk) 03:50, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
