Particle accelerator test[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Particle accelerator. — ξxplicit 00:52, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: Misleading redirect. There are more particle accelerators which conducts tests than the LHC, wheter it means that they are testing the accelerator itself, or makes tests of theories. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 17:52, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eat My Shorts[edit]

The result of the discussion was withdrawn by nominator. Non-admin closure. Grondemar 23:45, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Eat my Shorts" is a phrase that is spoken during the movie "The Breakfast Club." However, the use of the phrase isn't even mentioned in the article, so people searching for "Eat my shorts" will have no idea why they ended up at "The Breakfast Club". There was some debate on Talk:The Breakfast Club regarding whether the phrase was first used in this movie. Considering no sources have been brought up in support of either side of the issue, I think this constitutes a non-notable non-verifiable non-visible tidbit that doesn't need a confusing redirect. RSLxii 17:42, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ADDENDUM: Actually, when I click the link above, I end up at a redirect page for "Eat my shorts" that points to Bart Simpson! But if I type "eat my shorts" in the search bar, I end up at The Breakfast Club. How can that be? I'm kind of ignorant on the ways of the redirect, forgive me. --RSLxii 17:47, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see now--I didn't realize wikipedia was caps sensitive. Eat My Shorts is different from Eat my shorts. --RSLxii 17:53, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NEW ADDENDUM: "Eat My Shorts" (title case) points to Bart Simpson (which sounds reasonable to me, since that is who the phrase is associated with), while "eat my shorts" (lower case) points to "Breakfast Club". --RSLxii 18:04, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Learned a lot in the last 15 minutes about redirects. I'm going to change "Eat My Shorts" to point to Bart Simpson. Withdrawing. --RSLxii 18:05, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Various redirects to Template:Image requested[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep some, delete some. Deleting unused terms, replacing others that have single use; if any I delete are actually useful someday, they can be re-created. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:17, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are far more redirects to this template than necessary. I suggest we delete some of them. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:19, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I have excluded {{Reqphoto}} from this nomination because this is the legacy name of this template and may be familiar to a lot of editors. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:24, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Template:Reqimage - this is a former template that was redirected. When the template still exists in the history it is better dealt with at WP:MFD.
Keep Template:Image request - plausible typo for template title. Bridgeplayer (talk) 16:51, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed both of these from the nomination. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:12, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Circular redirects fixed in the target article. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:05, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects to the parent page. leandros (talk) 09:03, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep and fix circ redirect at the target. No deletion reason given in the nomination. Entirely helpful redirect to person covered in the target. Bridgeplayer (talk) 02:04, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Pakistani constitutions[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. Since one is now a redirect of the another, and all instances of the redirect transclusions have been fixed, there is no need to keep the redirect. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:00, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unused, was redundant to {{PakistaniConstitutions}} Green Giant (talk) 02:25, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: There were formerly two identical copies of the same template at these two titles. I don't see a reason for deletion listed above, since template redirects with alternate spacing are quite common, but in the meantime I've reversed the redirect so that {{PakistaniConstitutions}} is now a redirect to the template text at {{Pakistani constitutions}}. Gavia immer (talk) 15:03, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete {{PakistaniConstitutions}}, Keep {{Pakistani constitutions}}—both were created at nearly the same time by the same author, so there's no GFDL-significant history to worry about deleting. I have fixed all the transclusions to use {{Pakistani constitutions}} instead of {{PakistaniConstitutions}}. Grondemar 23:52, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I'm not advocating deleting both templates; I just don't see the point of two duplicates. Green Giant (talk) 07:18, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep both and take to WP:MFD - RFD is not for eliminating duplicate templates. Dealing with redirects that result from template moves is fine, but if the underlying template still exists in the history then MFD is the place. Bridgeplayer (talk) 15:29, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. — ξxplicit 00:52, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant to {{GCC}} - no need for such a long name in templates Green Giant (talk) 02:19, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - my view is that unused redirects resulting from template, as opposed to article, moves can be deleted. Bridgeplayer (talk) 15:01, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
