October 16[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on October 16, 2009

Template:STANDARDSORTERING[edit]

The result of the discussion was speedy delete as an implausible redirect (R3). JamieS93 17:56, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. It's a highly implausible redirect to a template that nobody is supposed to be using anyway. —Paul A (talk) 07:56, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Secondaryconsole.jpg[edit]

The result of the discussion was Keep - brion (a tech guy for the WMF) said on a discussion page on Commons that redirects should be kept for all images unless there was a very good reason do to so. It is important to remember that many people link to Wikipedia all over the internet, and we should try to avoid creating dead links for them if at all possible. I'm pretty sure that was his reasoning. I can look it up if anyone is really interested. Killiondude (talk) 01:50, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect to an orphaned Fair Use image that will likely be deleted fairly soon. Why this is even a redirect, I have no idea. No pages currently link to it except for two links in userspace. The WordsmithCommunicate 03:55, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep for now - "Secondaryconsole" is a plausible alternate name for the target (and likely to be remembered); if the target is deleted, this will be, too, because of WP:CSD#G8 (dependent on non-existing or deleted page). B.Wind (talk) 17:13, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • The target won't be speedily deleted as I've removed the tag after inserting the picture into an article for one of the Doctor Who stories in which the secondary console was used. B.Wind (talk) 02:45, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep for not -- Deleting the redirect now would be hasty and doing it after would be completely uncontroversial. Thanks B.Wind for following up on this. —mako 01:49, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cut It Out (disambiguation)[edit]

The result of the discussion was withdrawn as cleaned up by IP user. — ξxplicit 19:59, 25 October 2009 (UTC)}}[reply]

Considering both Cut It Out and Cut it out are both redirects to parent articles, there's no reason to keep these disambiguation redirects around. — ξxplicit 03:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note - Both of the above nominees and Cut it out have been retargeted to new Cut It Out disambiguation page. It made no sense to have two of these point to Nelly's album, one to Nelly himself, and one to Full House; so, I dabified... and added a third bluelink with a synonym to the phrase "cut it out." Needless to say, I'd recommend keeping these as retargeted. 147.70.242.54 (talk) 19:56, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as redirected -- This sounds like the most reasonable outcome. Thanks 147.70.242.54 for doing the research and for boldly cleaning this up. —mako
