Charles Freeman appointment controversy[edit]

The result of the discussion was Deleted. -- JLaTondre (talk) 00:51, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - highly improbable search string, apparently created simply to help populate a category under discussion at CFD. No edit history that needs preserving. Otto4711 (talk) 00:12, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - per nom    7   talk Δ |   00:56, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Moved from an at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Garlic Belt. I have no opinion, I closed it over there since AFD is not for Redirects. --Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 20:06, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Asprin[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Aspirin. To reflect this change, I will update the existing hatnote at Aspirin with {{redirect}}. –Black Falcon (Talk) 17:48, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that the page should go to Asprin, the drug, instead of Robert Asprin, if people were looking for ROBERT ASPRIN, they would probably type ROBERT ASPRIN instead of asprin, whereas if they were looking for ASPRIN, they would expect to find the drug as the result Gamersedge (talk) 13:05, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, I agree - I believe it used to do that, or at least exist as a disambig page. Bob talk 13:34, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the redirect is the correct spelling of the target's family name but would be a misspelling of Aspirin. An appropriate dab template already exists at the top of the Robert Asprin article to point people caught by the misspelling to the appropriate article. --Allen3 talk 14:08, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Make sense. Unless someone can provide evidence that a average person is more likely to be mityping Aspirin than correctly typing in the person's last name we should keep it as is since the hatlink can direct anyone making a mistake to the article they want to find.--207.236.151.102 (talk) 17:41, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Change to the drug I am admittedly a worse than "average" speller, but I was pretty puzzled by it until I read the whole thing, because it looked like a perfectly likely spelling to me for the drug. How many people know the man, how many people know the drug? 500,000,000 to 50,000, probably. If there's a 1:100 chance of mis-spelling, then the the drug redirect is 100 X more useful. DGG (talk) 06:27, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Dab or retarget to ASA. The most prominent usage is a misspelling of the drug. 76.66.202.139 (talk) 03:49, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • No. We wouldn't do a dab when a hatnote can work better. Tavix |  Talk  21:23, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The hardest metal known to man[edit]

The result of the discussion was Speedy delete, implausible redirect. Laser brain (talk) 22:25, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete redirect based upon an inherently POV and peacocky claim about this band. Redirect also has potential for confusion from people looking for information related to metalurgy or fictional substances.--Allen3 talk 13:20, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
