August 9[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on August 9, 2009

Wikipedia (disambiguation)[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete: currently a nonsensical redirect, and too unlikely a search term to warrant retargeting. ~ mazca talk 20:43, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This page came about when a user redirected it to Wikipedia (terminology), the terminology page itself was redirected to History of wikis, and a bot corrected the double redirect. Right now, the redirect doesn't make sense. King of ♠ 23:42, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nomination. Not in use, and doesn't really make sense.  [ mad pierrot ]  20:18, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete It seems to have what little, if any, reason there once was in sustaining it. [List of Wikipedias]] handles the concept of a DAB for Wikipedia much better. ~ Amory (usertalkcontribs) 00:00, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hm so redirect to List of Wipipedias? Rich Farmbrough, 00:22, 18 August 2009 (UTC).[reply]
Nyet. Delete, as anything with " (disambiguation)" at the end of it is unlikely to be a useful redirect as a search term. ~ Amory (usertalkcontribs) 03:45, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

James Hoffmann[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep; consensus to delete an article is not necessarily consensus to avoid even redirecting that title to a relevant topic. No valid reason was given why this redirect is misleading or otherwise harmful. ~ mazca talk 20:41, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect was created against consensus immediately following a AFD to delete the article "James Hoffmann." see [1]. The creator of the redirect did so to spite the community and consensus and was one of the only people at the AFD arguing for re-direct rather than deletion. Rose Nylundstein (talk) 19:26, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - Useful search term. Generally, BLP1E's are redirected to the main articles; those arguing for deletion, unless specified, usually do not object to a redirect. -- King of ♠ 23:47, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Angry Sun[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. King of ♠ 18:06, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't covered within the target. TTN (talk) 14:10, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Not mentioned in target. (I think this is the sun that appears in one whole level of SMB3.) Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 23:54, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Completely pointless redirect. I think you're right, TPH, it just swoops down at you. It was nominated for deletion years ago and, based on the content at the time, this is probably the best proof I've seen that standards have increased. Angry sun was actually in the target article at one point, but removed for seemingly obvious reasons. ~ Amory (usertalkcontribs) 00:08, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
