August 27[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on August 27, 2009

E&P (disambiguation)[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete, unlikely search term, misleading redirect. ~ mazca talk 23:23, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as misleading, since the target is not a disambiguation page (the correct redirect from E&P also exists). R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:15, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Not likely to be a useful search term. This would have been a G6 candidate in July when it was redirected. Jafeluv (talk) 20:18, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2008-2009[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete, misleading redirect from a very general term to a very specific target. With the incoming links now fixed, this redirect is not useful. ~ mazca talk 23:25, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. There are 26 links to 2008-2009, but I didn't find any of those links that were really intended to link to a Turkish sports team, or that were even about Turkey. The redirect doesn't accomplish anything except to trap people who make the mistake of linking to 2008-2009, thinking it will link to a general article about 2008 and 2009, or about the fiscal year. But I didn't find any such article, so instead the redirect links them to an irrelevant article about Turkey. Better to have redlinks than bluelinks to a completely irrelevant article. Art LaPella (talk) 02:18, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The redirect could be changed to 2008, which is probably closer to what those who link to the current page (mostly sports teams) are looking for. Given the lack of other two-year pages - or more to the point, the preponderance of more specific pages, such as 2005–06 NHL season - I wouldn't object to outright deletion, either. Cnilep (talk) 14:55, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete and change all 2008-2009 links to 2008-2009 or the relevant two-year page (e.g., Cnilep's NHL example). --Zach425 talk/contribs 09:58, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to 2008 as per the suggestion by Cnilep above. The Turkish football team is clearly not right but it should point somewhere and 2008-2009 would most likely refer to 2008. —mako 20:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per consistent deletion history of similar 1990-1991, 1995-1996, 2004-2005, 2006-2007, 2007-2008. I took Zach425's advice and fixed all 2008-2009 links, but found only one case where it needed to be changed to 2008-2009. Most of the others were sports team season linking errors that I corrected with piped links such as 2008-2009. With this redirect deleted, such linking errors will stand out better as redlinks. -- ToET 14:58, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Swedish_Armenians[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep (non-admin close). B.Wind (talk) 18:38, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should be deleted as it's a duplicate page. It's listed under Category:Swedes_of_Armenian_descent and loops back to that same page so it's completely unnecessary to have even for navigation purposes. The page has no relavant history and all people in said category are have already been moved to the identical page (Category:Swedes_of_Armenian_descent) --Lilyserbia (talk) 20:03, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, just remove the categories so it won't show up as a subcat and it could be a useful search term. -- œ 03:06, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I've boldly removed the parent categories and made the page a {{category redirect}} to Category:Swedes of Armenian descent, so it no longer shows up under that category. I think it's a possibly useful search term. Jafeluv (talk) 09:25, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep -- Now that Jafeluv has fixed the article, it's great. —mako 20:21, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
